For the Nets unprotected 1st round pick. The Lakers currently have no #1 option franchise player type. They need to increase their chances of landing Ben Simmons. Simmons is their only hope.

Close value imo. Your trading a pick that is prob 3-7 in a 5-6 guy draft. (Actually a 1 guy and a 4 or 5 second tier group)

The chances of that pick being Simmons are less than 10%. The chances of that pick not being a top 5 pick are prob over 50%

Shouldn't be crazy to ask questions of value like this. But also you have to understand that the lakers aren't trading Russell. They can't. They put to much into betting on this guy that they can't step away now. Russell's value will rise from where it's at today. Doesn't mean it's trade him time.

Then u have to take into account Boston have two young point guards better than the guy this trade is for and there is absolutely no logic in giving a possible top pick for a redundant player.

Boston need to either keep that pick or use it to get a top centre. Then try lure Durant as a free agent.

Why would the Celtics want evan turner 2.0 they already got the real deal.
Also the Nets pick could end up being better than Russell honestly. I wouldn't mind doing this trade if I'm the lakers as long as the pick stays top 3/4, but for the Lakers to trade him would mean they already gave up on a kid who was supposed to be their future.

Off the top of my head players like Simmons Skal Ingram Jaylen Murray all could end up being better than russel. That's 5 guys right there I doubt that nets pick will be outside of the top 5

Simmons is their last hoper? Well damn sure the Celtics will help the Lakers with that!

The age of LA stealing talent and picks is OVER boi. That died with the CP3 trade.
