What I mean, is why does society have issues with a white (or non black/Dark ) man wearing a Do-Rag of having Braids??

I've even seen individuals have a problem with a white guy playing or making rap.

Obviously, it's nt everyone that has a problem with it.

But if you have a group of 2 white guys, one with a fade and line up and the other with braids and they wear Do-rags and have gold chains and tats and they talk like with slang "what up fam? What's good?"

Why is there an issue with this? (NOT SAYING I feel a certain way for or against this, just stating observations)

---
Now, A follow up question- if Say someone has an issue with this, then they are keeping races seperate no? Only black men can wear a do-rag? Is that not a form of racism? Why? Why do they have a problem with a white guy wearing a do-rag, having braids IF they're honest about it and not mocking it per Se.

Disclaimer: AGAIN, I DO NOT feel one way for or against this. Just simply asking a question.

Unless you're an entertainer then it isn't cool

Durags on white people in general isn't cool, at least with black people our durags serve a purpose other than looking like you're straight from the hood.

I understand it's not cool. I'm asking why?

If the white guy or "non" black guy (which could be a Latino guy that is brown and has curly hair for example) is wearing a Do-rag for the purposes of Having their hair flat insteD kf standing, if they have the hair for it.

Then why can't they wear it? What would be deemed "white" culture, if a black guy wore it, nobody would have an issue with it, because then it would be racist. Or is that not accurate ? Do we not see the double standard ?

I don't think white folks avoid du rags and braids because of what black people might say.

I think they avoid those things cause their parents and females will think they're ****ing idiots

I've never seen any black guy have a problem with white guys trying to act urban, they just make fun of them cause most times it looks ridiculous.

Pretty sure doo-rags are worn to retain moisture on the scalp, which is more of a issue for black peeps, so why would a white guy even be wearing one? As a fashion statement? Wearing a doo rag in public looks retarded on anyone tbh, but even moreso on a white guy bc he has no reason to be wearing one at all.

As far as white guys dressing/acting like complete hood caricatures... Most white guys didnt grow up in the hood. Borrowing elements of style here and there is fine... We all copy each other to some degree. Going all out with it with no self awareness?? Just looks like youre tryin too hard. That's all.

Do we not see the double standard ?I think it may be because the do-rag is often treated as something fashionable more than functional... even though it is functional. It seems generally rooted in urban wear, so its function doesn't quite transcend the way, say, winter gloves may.

My brother has hair that he often needs to tame, and maybe a do-rag would do the job, but he opts for baseball caps or winter hats, because a do-rag would look kind of ridiculous on him from a fashion standpoint.

I also think there's probably an assumption that since most Caucasian folks would not need anything to make their hair settle, they would likely not be given the benefit of the doubt when wearing a do-rag, as there's a longstanding notion of people wearing things simply because they're trying to paint themselves as something else.

Why would it be acceptable for one race of people to do something but not acceptable for another race of people to do that same thing?

Isn't that called racism?

BTW braids and durags are for phaggits of any color

Doo rags look stupid on anyone where it is clear they are wearing it as a fashion statement rather than some semblence of functionality.

Euros actually invented cornrows. Cornrows are an ancient Celtic and Germanic hairstyle.

It's true that braids and "cornrows" date back to pre-history, but the truth is nobody knows who actually invented it. I wouldn't be shocked if this is something humans have been doing for more than 100,000 years.

Idk how dumb you are to not understand why people have a problem with it. Not saying YOU have to have a problem with it, but if you can't even see why others would, whether they're justified or not, you're definitely retarded.

By the way, you still play 2k? Remember you being one of the decent players in our league here.

It was likely invented by white people though, like most of humanity's epoch changing inventions were.

Yes, people have problem with that and I also wonder why... I am a white girl and for some reason I am not allowed to wear cornrows like these https://thehairstyledaily.com/cornrow-braids/ because they are worn only by African American. But what if I like this hairstyle. I think everyone is equal.

these are amsterdam white people . enjoy the cornrows/dreads/braids

My hair looking flowy since I haven't cut it in almost 4 months now. Once it grows past the top of the ears it's no longer annoying.

Never grown it out long before minus the high school lego haircut.

durags and braids are usually for people for curly hair because it's easier than doing their hair everyday and on short hair it's makes the "waves" hair pattern

white people usually don't have curly hair

Who gives a shit honestly? People should be allowed to wear whatever they want and do whatever they want with their hair. Getting upset about this shit is dumb af.
