He's obviously getting voted in at this point. Definitely won't give up his spot either. Might even gun for MVP. This will be a painful experience for Laker fans.

I'll be OK with it because he has meant a lot to the game. Just like MJ in his last year.

What I won't be OK with is if Melo gets in. That guy is a disgrace to the game.

MJ was actually decent in his last year. And MJ wasn't voted in as starter, Carter gave him his spot. I fully expect the legion of retarded Lakers fans to vote him in as starter. Probably ahead of Westbrook.

He should be in it.

Have some damn respect for an all-time great you dumbasses.

Grow up and appreciate it because there won't be another player that wants to win as bad as Kobe.

He didn't deserve it but he will be in for sure because all-star contests are a joke like he is.

Nah, man, ASG should be given to players who deserve it. Kobe should be respected as an ATG, yes, but he's not a good player anymore, and it'd be disrespectful to someone like Westbrook (a future ATG) to have him over them.

In the ASG? That would make the game more boring than having a 90 year old read a big ass book to you

Not sure how fun it will be, but it will definetly be entertaining

We still have 2 or 3 seasons before everyone votes in Lebron to the All-Star game before he breaks down and retires.

This is like group therapy for workers being laid off.

It's ok. You will get time to get a life now.

I'm cool with an all-time great in their final season being named as an honorary all-star, just as long as it doesn't take a spot from a deserving player. If Kobe gets voted in, hopefully he'll give it up and the league will add a roster spot to accommodate his farewell all-star game.

We win way too much.

What the f does that have to do with Kobe in the ASG?? Boy you're stuck on my nuts cuz I slay you in every thread we go at. You really wanna try again kid?

And rrr3, the ASG doesn't matter. Have it as an official send off. You think Ripken or Jeter deserved to be in their ASG? No, but people have respect for their legends.

I'm a purist, and I think it should be only for deserving players. Kobe should get a ceremony or something at the end of the year for sure, but he's not an AS level player anymore.

Ehhh, I see where you're coming from.

I think there should be exceptions for special cases. Kobe. Duncan. LeBron. Those guys should get the recognition they deserve.

The all star game is for the fans, so if that's what they want, that's what they want. It's so sloppy and dull that I don't know why anyone bothers watching it anyway.

I agree, but like I mentoned before, as long as it's not at the expense of a deserving player being left out. I know some people like to downplay being an all-star, but the fact remains that it's still a great honor and only a very small percentage of NBA players ever make an all-star team.

I understand, especially if we're just talking guys like Kobe, Duncan and LeBron, who are truly special players that we'll all miss when they're gone, whether or not we like them.

Still, I think it takes away when a player who might have their only ever shot at an ASG misses out due to a "lifetime achievement performance" from someone who made the ASG countless times in their career.

You're a heavy set pockmarked mid 20's dude with glasses and a Jewfro... I'm not a purist and you're not a purist. Players and coaches of the NBA's infancy are purists.

There will be no defense at the beginning of the game so he'll get some open dunks and layups, not sure if he'll be able to dunk but his fg percentage will probably improve to like 35 %.

He doesn't deserve it. It's as simple as that. Are you capable of comprehending something this simple?
