View Full Version : Which Spurs player is responsible for making Aldridge worse?

Hey Yo

and how come the board isn't giving LMA the Kevin Love Cavs treatment?

He's not on pace for an all-star selection.
His FG% is down (.466 to .427)
His PPG are down by 8+points.
His rebounding is down.

Meanwhile, Jorge is turning CJ into a star.

His FG% should be higher, but the season is still young. In Pop's system no player will average 20 ppg in the regular season (maybe Kawhi this year), it's all about resting the starplayers and coasting for the playoffs.

Also 14-3

Those reasons didn't fly for 1st year Love in Cleveland and 1st year Bosh in Miami.

14-3 could be 17-0 if he got the ball more.

Aldridge isn't worse he's just coasting. He doesn't get the shots he needs to put up big numbers. In the playoffs he will step up. Pop is awesome because he's winning and playing some of his best players under 20 minutes. Incredible.

He's used to playing 36-39 minutes per game. He's down to 30. He also gets less shots as he plays 2nd/3rd fiddle to Kawhi Leonard.

To sum it up, he's flying under the radar, he's fitting in as a Spur.

tim duncan.

Duncan is pretty bad at spacing considering hes a non factor on offense.

Spurs are winning, so it is all good.

his per 36 numbers would be virtually identical if he was shooting a better percentage. maybe he just can't get in a rhythm playing less minutes? so it's Pop's fault?

because this board doesn't have a bunch of Duncan stans who feel the need to undermine every player he plays with in order to make him look better, the same way that you and many others do for Lebron

If it was stats he wanted, pretty sure he wouldn't have signed with Pop.

If it was wins he wanteOH WAIT 14-3.

Also a factor is that Spurs now play one of the slowest paces in the league..
Combine that with less minutes, new team and system.. More rest.

I think he will improve offensively as the season continues maybe averaging around 18ppg on a higher %.

But as people said the Spurs are winning.. And look like one of only two teams with the cavs that have any chance at beating the Warriors

I just saw telling stat chart. Leonard is 2nd and Aldridge is 5th FG differential.

When the hell did LMA turn to good defender?

He always was a fine defender. elite no.

but they had him backed down on blazers to keep him stronger on offense. which... was the right thing to do on that team... but Spurs is a far more balanced, far more team oriented than those teams were.

He's a chucker, not very overrated anymore since people don't seem to talk much or rate him much at all anymore, just a decent PF... it was kinda insulting when they put him over Dirk on the All-NBA team in 2014.

The Spurs have quietly gone 14-3... And are going to be nasty in the playoffs...

So because he's not stat-padding on a non-contender now he's worse?
