The next Kawhi Leonard

First time I've seen his highlights. is he defense Elite or look like it's going to be elite. And is he a quiet scorer?

Should I pick him up in Fantasy and drop Joe Johnson (we play keepers, meaning can keep him for next year for cheap).

I've seen very little of him and don't really know what his projections are.

First time I've seen his highlights. is he defense Elite or look like it's going to be elite. And is he a quiet scorer? The projection is that he could end up being a great defender. Stan Van Gundy said earlier this year that he may (emphasis on may) be the best 19-year-old defender he's seen. Granted, that doesn't say a lot because most 19-year-olds suck at defense. Plus, Van Gundy said that in training camp and Johnson's hit some speed bumps since.

Speaking of which, for as well as Johnson did offensively and on the glass last night, James Harden and Marcus Thornton taught him some lessons in the fourth. Johnson's a go-getter defensively, and Harden used that against him, baiting him into numerous fouls (one of which was a four-point play.)

But the good news is Johnson's goes and gets it defensively. Whatever ability he's lacking in that regard right now, it's not from lack of effort. He's 245 pounds and wants to be lockdown. As he picks up lessons, like the ones he surely learned last night, he could end up being pretty good.
