The OKC series was his best imo. That shit was crazy. Completely outclassed Durant and put a shadow on Lebron's performance thus far in the playoffs.

I wonder what his legacy would be if not for that playoff run. Besides that year, his team underachieved pretty much every season.

He was great that year, but his team was a 50-55 win team for like... 10 straight years. Some years he had an impressive run individually, some years he didn't, but his teams were always pretenders. Until they added Kidd and Chandler.

You just completely contradicted your above statement of "underachieving"... thats called overachieving, then all it took was a defensive big and he won a title...

he played at a masterful level in the playoffs in 2003, 2006, 2008-2011... and good other years like 2002, 2004..

whoah, ancient Kidd and Chandler, TOO MUCH HELP!

Could you list the years they underachieved...

Because I don't think you have a clue...

You probably put as much as most else, although people underrate his defense at times, what really seems to be the issue with Dirk's evaluation is the lack of credit for his unprecedented offensive impact, I've seen just about every teammate thrive under his mantel, and lead some of the more efficient offenses in the NBA year for year, as the main cog of each offensive play, with no star ability to his side. This is evidenced by people with little understanding going as far as calling him "one dimensional", which is just about as ridiculous as calling Curry that, and undermines them.

Yes, he is, and people who aren't blinded by names would know that... Dirk had similar if not greater impact in 2002, 2003, 2004 (decisively greater), 2005 (decisively greater), 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, etc.

why the hell would they not be on an equal tier?

Ya, it`s efficient and all, but -imho- just a little flat footed and stiff, but my god his touch  And that little awkwardness does it so much more magical to me.

With a Kobe like set up for his career (team mates etc), would he have 5 rings? Absolutely.

pls lets not start again a discussion about that. there are lot of people who argue that dirk is ahead of the players you mentioned. and there are people who dont think so. i have dirk in my top 15. other have him top 17. you have him top 25. ok. next.

Besides the shots in the Finals to seal the game.... this was the craziest shot of the playoff run:

Game 4 (or was it Game 3?), when the Mavs were making a comeback... Dirk got fouled (no call)... he shot the ball halfcocked..... from the baseline... nothing but net.

I can't find the picture, but go find that pic and the crowd's reaction. It is priceless.

Yes , Wade was awesome at 2011 finals . I remember first 4 games , Wade was playing like Jordan , again :D .

Beside of Dirk's performances Terry's three unforgettable for me .

Wade was garbage in the ECF. But that's how it's supposed to work. When one guy struggles another can step up. Unfortunately Lebron chose the biggest stage to play awful in.

Holy shit, sometimes I forget that warm feeling of watching your favorite team in the playoffs. :(Cause watching Kobe play, in the post season, at a pretty high level, and get swept in the 2nd round by Dirk/Terry/Peja/Barea, is still totally better than not making the playoffs at all for several years.

I know the feeling. My bulls after Jordan retired were absolute butt for many years.
