View Full Version : Real Lakers fans. Are Kobe's press conferences pissing you off?

Kobe laughs as he jokes: "That was beautiful basketball."

"tee hee yeah i'm such an old guy tee hee"

"mmmm can't wait to leave the stadium n get a cheese steak tee hee"

I'm talking about the act

This guy has paralyzed your franchize with his salary for two, now three years.

He says he wants to help, why shoot so much? Why the shot selection? He's tickling opposing players, playing paddycake, giggly wiggles. Slapping their butts after they nail a three. Laughing with the media after blowout losses, smiling in interviews after losing to a winless team.

Where's the seriousness to show that young core how important winning is? Where's that demeanor and killer instinct? You can clearly see in his interviews how little of fvcks he gives.

Thoughts?

It is bad that Randle and Russell aren't getting the experience leading the offense. If Kobe wants to chuck, he should take the Lou Williams role and come off the bench with the second unit, and Williams or Young should be starting SG.

In terms of the franchise, Kobe shooting so badly helps us get a higher pick next year, so real talk, it's not bad.

Still, those shots should be going to Randle and Russell and Clarkson.

Yes. I want to punch the guy. He acts and talks like he just won the championship. I feel sorry for the Laker players that will have to put up with this sh't for the rest of the year. He no longer cares about winning. Laughs when he's losing, doesn't play D and just chucks up shots like he's on the playground.

He's trying to pretend he's not embarrassed by how god awful he is.

This act is no different than his "ultra focused, high-intensity, win-at-all costs" act he put on when his team was actually relevant.

He never cared about winning. He never cared about the team. He cared about "Kobe's image." It's always just been an act. He tries to project whatever image he thinks will get praise and admiration from people.

Randle and Russell's development will be hindered if they spend the season standing around watching Kobe take 25 shots a game.

It would be much better long term for them if they run the offense as the #1 and #2 option, Clarkson too. The danger there is they might win a few games playing that way.

Is that why he shot them out of a championship vs the pistons, tryin to be FMVP?

Is that why he chucks without a conscience, when the stats say the team wins more when he doesnt?

Is that why he takes up every possible penny he can of the salary cap when his play doesnt merit it??

He doesnt REALLY care about winning. That's an act he puts on because he cares about being the center of attention.

This attitude he has now is the exact same attitude hes always had. He needs attention first, everything else is secondary. The only differences are the team around him isnt stacked, and he cant shoot as well. The approach, the mindset, the petty selfishness and insecurity? It's basically just having a light shined on it by the fact all these shots are missing. We're basically getting an X-ray view of what Kobe has ALWAYS been.

This guy giggles with the media, while people around him will end up losing their jobs. Some other players might get booted out of LA. A whole 60+ more games to put up with this limelighted comical fairwell tour(ture) ?

I understand the process of tanking but his humorous demeanor going about it is classless.

I'll post what I did in the GT:

Kobe wastes Laker possessions. What was he tonight from the field? 7/26? If he's not hitting the backside of a barn, there's just no way he should be attempting THAT many shots. Scott needs to bring him off the bench and/or play dude 15-20 minutes a game. Bench him even, if he's intent on chucking.

You gotta admire and respect the career Kobe has had, but you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Guy is a major liability out there right now.

^As I say this, though, tanking and having dude play reckless ensures us a top pick. We currently have no chance at making the playoffs :confusedshrug:

Yeah, but at the same time, the growth of our youngsters are stunted. Not to mention, the wrong message is being sent to them. That hero ball is ok. That there is a double standard. The game should be played the right way at all times. This stuff from Kobe is a slap in the face to the game and to the people who appreciate the game at its purest form.

Just seeing the post game interviews say it all. Kobe laughing and joking while every other player is dejected. Most mention lack of ball movement. They can't call Kobe. Not when their coach clearly stated there is a double standard.

Just sad season up ahead. Kobe holding this team hostage.

I don't see why Kobe doesn't shoot less by this point. He's unfathomably bad. It's hard to watch him knowing how great he used to be. It's comical and sad at the same time. He could probably be a decent role player too, that's what is really sad. If he didn't shotjack so much, he could probably still put up 10-12 PPG on 43% or something and get 5 assists and 5 boards a game. I don't understand how you can let someone who is shooting 30% take this many shots. Tanking or not, it's not fair to the young players. And I'm surprised Kobe realize how bad he looks. He is playing like the player his biggest haters always painted him as being.

This is true. I believe they lost both their games without Kobe anyways (small sample size to be fair). It's pretty clear this team is shit with or without Kobe. So the idea that he is purposefully playing awful to ensure a top draft pick is silly. They don't need Kobe to shoot 7-26 every game to get a good draft pick. And, it's not good for the young players.

As a fan of the game I enjoy watching him talk to reporters and make peace with the game as you can see he knows the ride is winding down for him. I've grown up watching this guy since I was a teenager. I'll be turning 35 in April as Kobe's career comes to a close. It's enjoyable.

However, on the court it's frustrating to watch him take 26 shots in a game on a really bad percentage when he should be used as a decoy most plays while setting up the younger guys. THAT is how he should be playing but let's face it the guy doesn't give a shit and honestly it's cool but deep down I'm a bit ready for him to retire because right now this version of Kobe does not produce the way we need that's beneficial to this team where we are rebuilding

Fck man

Trolling aside, I feel bad for fans like this. True Laker fans. Kobe fanboys on here (and you guys can see them on this very thread)will defend their idol to the core and do not care one iota about the franchise. They'd rather the Lakers get humiliated time and time again with Kobe scoring big than the Lakers winning and their idol having a low output.

Posters like this chap right here and ClipperRevival are guys we should respect. Let's leave the trolling to the fanboys. Hearing these guys here express their frustration takes the fun out of the situation and the mocking.

Anyways, peace!

This a bit like a fox news anchor "respecting" a liberal for hating on his own.

Your "respect" is a as biased as your hate. And they come from the same place.

"Kobe Bryant" has pretty much become the punchline to every basketball joke this fall.

Thoughts?

Soft.

Thoughts?problem is did you actually believe anything he says? I mean ever since he became washed up, he will speak all the correct things or things that sounds "alpha" if you will, but he hasn't backed up one thing he said for the last 3 years.
