See how far he shoots them from? You check him past halfcourt (virtually in his range) and then he does shit like this:

and this

https://38.media.tumblr.com/2f1463adb69f9cfd1c17d6931078fcf8/tumblr_mkhir9st5z1qjqm3po1_400.gif

Handle too good. Shooting too good. Team too good. Curry/Green PnR is seriously the most difficult thing to check in the NBA when you got players like Thompson, Barnes, and Iggy bombing from 3 at the rate they do. And those guys and Green aren't mere system roleplayers either. We have seen all of those guys (and even players like Livingston and Barbosa) takeover games by themselves. Incredible roster building job.

There's a list of games with 40 or more points with 18 or less shots.

As you can see, many of them ended up getting to the foul line A LOT. A foul line trip is equal to one possession. So 2 FT's = one "true shot". So, most of these players took around 30 "shots". Curry only went to the line twice (for 4 FT's). So, Curry only took 20 true shots.

So...it appears that scoring 40 points on Curry's TS% that he hit tonight only happened once before....Jeff Hornacek in 1994, who had almost the exact same statline as Steph Curry tonight. 14-18 FG (8-8 for threes) with 4 foul shots for 40 points...LOL.

37 in one quarter > his performance tonight

What was funny is that it had the same feeling as that quarter. The thing with STeph Curry's 3rd Quarter was none of it was forced. He just casually brought the ball up every time and the offense ran and he would score, every time. With Klay's 37 point game it was at Oakland and the crowd got into it giving him energy. It was also vs the Kings too and while the T-Wolves aren't great the Kings are just a shithouse team on another lower level. It looked like a harlem globetrotter game vs the kings at one point where everyone was just force feeding Klay like it was a joke. Curry's was within the flow of the game and it felt like he had similar points to Klay's. I think CUrry didn't have as many 3's as Klay and was driving to the hoop more. Both were legendary performances however.

Angel Face

No one expected Curry to be this good. He's good, but not this kind of good. Ridiculous 3 point shooter. He shoots it whenever he feels like. Pulling up beyond 3 point arc from fast breaks, still makes it. Most exciting player in the league right now.

Not at all - I just know the media is going to start saying this 3-point-reliant robot can match MJ offensively, which is ludicrous.

So I'm pre-empting their stupidity in the forums by proving Curry is in a completely lower dimension from MJ.. He doesn't compare.

Honestly, Lebron compares a lot more than Curry does.. At least he isn't a bad defender like Curry is, and doesn't need the 3-point shot to be great.

Not according to me - according to the stats:

Per 100 Possessions (playoffs):

JORDAN: 43.3 pts.. 118 ORtg
CURRY:.. 32.5 pts.. 115 ORtg

It's not even close... MJ produces literally 35% more points per possession, at better efficiency.

Those are the facts - but keep denying the stats staring you in the face... It makes you look dumb and possibly crazy - not that it matters, because none of you lames have any credibility anyway.

Curry so far this season has a 128 Ortg and is scoring over 45 points per 100 possessions.

So you lose either way, seeing as this started about Jordan's stretches vs Curry's.

And since your metric says AI is more efficient that Larry Bird.

Hint hint: a metric that seems to work for Jordan but doesn't for anyone else is not a good metric.

Per 100 Possessions in Playoffs:

JORDAN: 43.3 pts.. 118 ORtg
CURRY:.. 32.5 pts.. 115 ORtg
