This is a thing where you cannot prove it happened so it can't really be counted.

You got OWS and OBPM mixed up. If Curry really had 13 OWS through twenty games, holy shit. :oldlol:
He's at 4.0 OWS. On pace for about 18 OWS this year.

Yes, against Bill Russell.
And he set the playoffs rebounds in a game record the playoffs of that particular season, and most rpg ever in a playoff series - also against Bill Russell.

The game has changed too much for any of this to be relevant or comparable to today's game.
You can say Wilt put up 60/30 with ease, why are we supposed to be impressed? Well, because he wouldn't sniff those numbers on his best night playing today.

You don't even need to look at the numbers (though they absolutely cannot be ignored, an NBA record is an NBA record and he broke several that season) - but look at what he lead the league in.
His name is all over the seasons leader boards for both his team and the league for almost all categories.

How does it get awkward?
Pace, field goal percentage and available rebounds demonstrably affects the rebounding performance of individual players.
Pace does not demonstrably affect the scoring output, or assist output of individual players.
If you don't believe me what are the top 10 scorers per game in NBA history for every single season - minus Wilt Chamberlain.
Ceiling is about 35. It was done once in the 60's by Rick Barry, once by MJ in the 80's, and once by Kobe in the '00's.
Same with 60 point or 70 point performance distribution. Subtract Wilt, it's a roll of the dice what season it happens in it isn't concentrated any more in the 60's than it is in the 80's or '00's.
Because regardless of pace, single-superstar lead teams still get their touches and offensive numbers.
Wilt is an outlier in things like scoring points and dishing out assists for a center. There is such a thing as an outlier.

Pace is the speed at which the game is played impacts just about every other statistic.
A higher Pace means more possessions. More possessions means more shots. More shots means more points, more misses, more rebounds... you get the picture. Without an understanding of that tempo, many of the other statistics become meaningless.

Graph the top 10 scorers in NBA history (minus Wilt) every season.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/pts_per_g_top_10.html
And put it against a backdrop of the pace of the game.
Then show us the connection to points.
Do the same for assists.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/ast_per_g_top_10.html
If you don't, don't worry I plan to do it in the near future. Because I notice there are other things that limited other scorers from doing things scorers today can't duplicate. Outside of Wilt, the top scorers in the 60's were doing more or less the same numbers the top scorers were doing in the 80's, or '00's, or now.
Except for Wilt. Nobody then or now seemed to be able to approach his numbers (points or assists at center position). Regardless of pace. Strange.

No one wants to hear about a career choker and statpadder who played in an era that is completely different than the one right now.

I honestly cant take anyone who says Wilt seriously. It was a different time, the game was a scrambled mess for the most part. There was't as much urgency in those days nor as much on the line given the far smaller paychecks as well as general infancy of the sport.
So when u get a guy as naturally tall and talented as wilt, of course ur gonna be grabbing bulk rebounds around mostly 6'6 white guys and scoring loads. Just lmaoyonaise sauce

41 rebounds against Bill Russell...
Quadruple doubles against Russ and Thurmond
Sorry, the 6'6 white guys thing is bunk.

Wilt at best would average 24/15 on 60% in a real era... no 50ppg averages or 24rpg
His go to moves were garbage. His little finger roll scoop over the defender shit was entirely dependant on the shitty era he played in with shitty small defenders and rules that let him camp inside and abuse defenders
Stop bragging about shit that doesnt even translate
wilt da gawd
curry da gawd
bran da gawd

there have sure been lots of reag great players in n ba .

What a total buzz kill. They see santa in the malls its real to them lol. You gotta have a high level of curiosity to research someone. And a high level of admiration to defend him on a thread. You cant seriously say you're all logic no emotion lol.

What about defense - without considering defense, it's not worth discussing because the conclusion will be erroneous.
When you include defense, MJ had the greatest season of all time, by far - DPOY, scoring champ, MVP, and 35/6/6/54%.... and 158 dunks (2nd (http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2lb0whh&s=8#.U_0tH_ldX2U) in league, which is goat for a guard and any wing not named Dr. J).
