Given the Spurs defense is absolutely insane this year so far holding opponents to 89.3ppg...
Even though Duncan is impacting the defense more than what people realise. Kwahi is the face of the Spurs defense and if they continue to dominate on the defensive end like this..
Is he a lock for back to back at this point?

Whiteside is averaging like 5 blocks a game, and the Heat are a great defensive team...

Depends on if the media ever pays attention to that Duncan guy anchoring the defense for the spurs...

Draymond and whiteside are better picks right now.

Not Whiteside. Draymond deserves it more.

Kawhi

Timmy deserves it more than Kawhi at this point. He anchors the league's best defense - no other team comes close - and leads the league in DRPM - again, no one comes close.

FTFY. Duncan has been our best defender this year - he's leading the league in Defensive RAPM and Kawhi is gambling more than effort and putting less effort in (though that's because of the offensive load he's carrying). Not to mention great bigs naturally impact the D more than wings.

That said, I think Whiteside is the top candidate to take it this year.

Online I read they take 3 weeks to 3 months. I'm guessing on the shorter side of that because he is a pro athlete with top professionals checking on him.

Kawhi missed a similar amount of games last season and still got DPOY :confusedshrug:

Draygod has more impact on defense than Leonard.

And I'm all for Timmy winning the award. In fact, they should just name the award after him.
