You guys enjoy basketball by watching Skip Bayless... Whereas I just dunked on some chump the day before yesterday.

There's no comparison - I enjoy basketball far more than anyone itt ever could, would or will.

I'm sure you enjoy basketball. Just basketball between October 26, 1984 and April 16, 2003. Everything before and after doesn't exist to you.

Also, dunking on your little brother through his play-skool hoop isn't impressive.

Curry could outscore MJ if he had MJ mentality

Curry players more of a team oriented game rather than one man army style
His assist numbers aren't that high but he gets a lot of hockey assists

If Curry played MJ minutes, and took as many shots as MJ he would avg 40+ PPG

This spaced-out, non-physicality doesn't even look like basketball to me - the neat spacing makes it look more like a marching band or dance routine:

Compare to real basketball:

https://media.giphy.com/media/7oHqvwSawSMUw/giphy.gif

As you can see, players couldn't get in the lane whenever they wanted, so they had to pull-up for midrange jumpers, like Jordan above - defenders didn't guard the 3-point line so they could pack the paint and prevent penetration.

Imagine if 3ball was around during Linsanity. Dude would be putting MJ and Jeremy Lin gifs aide by side

Just an extremely insecure person. I shudder to think what he would do in a real life argument without his copy and pasting and gifs. He probably compares his local garbagemen to MJ and tells them every day how garbage collecting was so much better in the 80's and 90's. F*cking geek.

You're factually incorrect - Jordan DID MORE (higher volume) at the same efficiency (points-per-possession):

Per 100 Possessions in Playoffs

JORDAN:. 43.3 pts.. 2.2 oreb.. 6.1 dreb.. 7.4 ast.. 4.0 tov.. 2.7 stl.. 1.1 blk.. 32.5 fga.. 118 ORtg
CURRY..:. 32.6 pts.. 0.9 oreb.. 4.6 dreb.. 9.1 ast.. 4.7 tov.. 2.2 stl.. 0.2 blk.. 24.8 fga.. 115 ORtg

If Kobe, Curry or Lebron could shoot more at the same efficiency - they would... But they can't... So imagine Kobe, Curry or Lebron DOING MORE - that's MJ.

JORDAN:. 43.3 pts.. 2.2 oreb.. 6.1 dreb.. 7.4 ast.. 4.0 tov.. 2.7 stl.. 1.1 blk.. 32.5 fga.. 118 ORtg.. 56.8 ts
LEBRON:. 36.5 pts.. 2.0 oreb.. 9.3 dreb.. 8.6 ast.. 4.5 tov.. 2.2 stl.. 1.2 blk.. 26.8 fga.. 114 ORtg.. 56.5 ts
DURANT:. 35.8 pts.. 1.2 oreb.. 9.1 dreb.. 4.8 ast.. 4.1 tov.. 1.4 stl.. 1.5 blk.. 25.8 fga.. 114 ORtg.. 58.3 ts
KOBE:..... 34.7 pts.. 1.4 oreb.. 5.5 dreb.. 6.4 ast.. 4.0 tov.. 1.9 stl.. 0.9 blk.. 27.7 fga.. 110 ORtg.. 54.1 ts
CURRY:... 32.6 pts.. 0.9 oreb.. 4.6 dreb.. 9.1 ast.. 4.7 tov.. 2.2 stl.. 0.2 blk.. 24.8 fga.. 115 ORtg.. 59.1 ts
WADE:.... 32.2 pts.. 2.0 oreb.. 5.4 dreb.. 7.1 ast.. 4.8 tov.. 2.3 stl.. 1.4 blk.. 24.5 fga.. 108 ORtg.. 55.4 ts

Considering the #2 thru #6 spots above averaged between 32 and 36 points, you'd think the #1 player would be at 37 or 38... But instead, MJ was at 43.3, far above the pack.. He's ostensibly the goat

Sorry, but real hoops fans won't overrate a player who relies on the existence of the 3-point line to be all-time great

Without it, Curry's 2016 season wouldn't rank at all

you do know that without the 3pt line, MJ would be averaging about 3pts less during his career right? and his stats wouldnt be so stout as they are without those 3pts, either

the 3pt line was there during MJs prime years...why it is a bother to you in Curry using it as arsenal to crushing today's competition is pretty stupidtiy to put as a rebuttal. but then again...you've far exceed stupidity from your rants on this board :hammerhead:

Factually incorrect - MJ made 0.5 three-pointers per game for his career.

So he without the 3-point line, he would average exactly 0.5 ppg less

I know you don't understand this so let me explain - if MJ took 1.0 three-pointer per game, that three-pointer would become a 2-pointer without the 3-point line.. So he'd average 1 point less...

Same thing with Curry - he makes 6 threes per game, so he'd average 6 ppg less without the 3-point line.

that's not the point -- and he would be averaging 1.5ppg less as a 3pt shot is worth 3pts, and not 0.5 in the 3pt FGM over his career -- the point is, why is it OK that MJ can utilize that 1.5ppg to his advantage, but if anyone else (particularly Curry in this case) exploits it better than MJ did, it is disregarded by your standards.

we all know MJ is the GOAT (well most of us), but there's no reason to be insecure in thinking MJ cant ever be passed or measure similarily to in any particular season or aspect of the game.

next thing you'll say is Shaq never scored as effectively or dominantly in the paint because MJ's finesse and some sh!t to do with spacing held MJ's attacks to the rim at a higher standard than Shaq's attempts :facepalm

you really do give MJ fans a bad name...wonder if we can start a petition to ban you completely, IP and all...Jeff!!! what are the rules on this lol

Take away the 3 point line? Wtf lol

Take away Jordan's 3 inches that he has on Steph and he'd be Tony Allen.
Take away the free throw line and MJ averages 8-9 points less in his prime.
Take away the dunk/layup and he averages 6-8 points less.
Take away his large hands and he'd be Kobe.
Take away the practice and he's AI.

yada yada Jordan is the GOAT but why the Curry hate?

Well, if someone would come along that was ACTUALLY better than MJ..

Not someone that imitates MJ but doesn't stack up athletically, smarts, or efficiency-wise (Kobe).. :facepalm

Not someone who can't shoot and requires a point guard level time of possession to achieve stats, which fosters suboptimal chemistry (Lebron)...

And definitely not someone who requires the existence of a 3-point line to achieve all-time great offense (Curry)..

These 3ball threads are always entertaining. Yes, he does give MJ fans a bad name at times but it's funny seeing him trying to hard to prove something that most people already know. But at the same time, as MJs playing days are more of a distant memory, the likelihood of a young kid being ignorant about MJ increases. So in that sense, i like it when he sets these kids straight.
