In my life, I've witnessed the following players go into God mode:

Larry Bird - 1986, 1987
Michael Jordan - 1991, 1992, 1993 and other random stretches in his career
Hakeem - 1994, 1995
Shaq - 2001 playoffs
Dirk - 2011 playoffs

And I suppose Kobe during that crazy scoring streak in '06.

Shaq in 2000 & Duncan in '03 went God mode as well

I've seen Lebron do it for a couple games here and there in the playoffs but honestly never for a whole series (mainly because he couldn't but sometimes because his team didn't need it)

LeBron did that one game in 2012. Or was it Devil Mode?

LeBron was a beast in the '09 & '12 playoffs

Stephen Curry's first six games this season has to be up there. I'm no fanboy, but that shit was an apotheosis.

He was honestly a beast in 2011 too...until the finals. Problem is sometimes his jumper is way off and it throws his entire game out of whack.

first 6 games? Did you see the end of the 3rd quarter vs charlotte the other night?

2012 playoffs Lebron: 30-9-5 led all players in points, rebounds win shares. One all-time game against Boston, another amazing game against Indiana. 28-10-7 in the Finals. It's on par with everyone except MJ and Shaq statistically IMO, although Hakeem and Duncan did bigger carry jobs (though Bosh was hurt for much of the playoffs).

Kobe's greatest god mode moment was the first three rounds of the 2008 playoffs.

I would take it over anything he did in 2006 or 2007.

He was incredible for sure. Hard to keep it up against Boston with how they played in the Finals (though Kobe played well). Would've been impressive to see him finish that playoffs out. Take it from a Lebron fan (2011 :lol ).

Props to Kobe.

LeBron: 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 regular season, 2014

edit: OP: Hakeem 1995 was playoffs, not the whole year, and 1990 MJ should make it

LeBron in the 2013 regular season was the undisputed BITW and 1 vote off becoming the only unanimous MVP EVER... there is no doubt that man was GOD LEVEL.

2010 LeBron litally has the highest RAPM ever (since its tracking), ahead of second place, 2009 LeBron.

61-21 - w/ LeBron: +11.5 w/o LeBron: -5.3 (16.8 on/off turnaround)

Stretch during Mo William's injury absence (13 games):

10 of the 13 games:

28 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists vs. Toronto Raptors
37 points, 9 assists vs. Los Angeles Lakers
37 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
32 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists vs. Miami Heat
22 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists vs. Los Angeles Clippers
22 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists vs. Memphis Grizzlies
36 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists vs. Miami Heat
47 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists vs. New York Knicks
32 points, 8 rebounds, 13 assists vs. Orlando Magic
43 points, 13 rebounds, 15 assists vs. Denver Nuggets

His averages: 31.7ppg 7.3rpg 10.8apg 1.8spg 1.2bpg (3.7 TOPG) on 48/31/76 - 12-1 record

He clobbered Kobe, went into MSG and absolutely lit the place up from everywhere, owned entire 4th quarters in the post and mid-range ala the Orlando game, and as always beat up his contenders for BITW, in Dwyane Wade this time...

He progressed from his 2009 self. I remain of the opinion that 2010 is his peak.

I don't care if one agrees/disagrees with 2014 though.

Agreed. Lebron's two best were 2009 and 2012 playoffs. Though by that criteria: 81 pts and 62 in 3 quarters would certainly qualify.

In games 3-6 of the 2006 finals Wade put up 39/8/4/3/1.

He also had a month stretch in 2009 averaging 37/11/6/3/2 on 55%.

Pretty crazy stuff.

If were talking long stretches you guys have pretty much mentioned most. I'd definitely throw current Curry in there.

If a single game also counts Klay Thompson should definitely be mentioned. :oldlol:

I really didnt expect anyone to disagree with me there.. what do you mean, you feel he should get a mention here, among guys like MJ, Bird, Bron etc?

Again, you have to be really dumb to think so.

It came out of nowhere, that's what was pretty cool about it.. the level of play wasn't half as good as the guys here.

Can't believe I have to explain this tbh :facepalm

This is not a thread for listing "godlike" players, it's a thread for "godmode" (an exaggeration, clearly) performances for a stretch, or more loosely just a game.

Lin is not a great player but he was amazing in that stretch. I don't know how you can dispute that. No, he does not belong in the company of MJ or Bird. :biggums:

That I've witnessed, Wade went into God mode for various stretches of 2005 and 2006 against some GOAT defenses as well as in the finals (games 3-6). Someone already mentioned LeBron in 2012 against Boston; that was truly the only game I've ever watched where I was truly in awe of what I was seeing. Dirk also was pretty untouchable in 2011, his 48 points against the Thunder were immaculate. As for anyone else, Curry is legit playing like a God among men right now, I just saw such confidence (and perhaps arrogance) streaming from him at the Jazz-Warriors game I went to. Too bad I'm too young to have witnessed Jordan first-hand

But, every player in the OP and mentioned so far is an ATG, and the stretch is season or playoffs, there is no mention of just "a game", this is all in your head, so again, the Jeremy Lin mention makes zero sense, still :biggums:

Of course he was amazing.. was great to see. Now what does this have to do with "GOD MODE".... repeat that, "GOD MODE" and the players in this thread, and then say, "JEREMY LIN".. something not adding up huh?
