Big Baby Davis would've been the greatest left tackle in NFL history. The man has some of the lightest feet I had ever seen on a guy about 280 lbs. He's not in the NBA right now. Makes me wonder why he doesn't at least TRY to play the position and earn like 10 million a year instead of rotting away. He's still only 29. Left tackles can be great well into their 30's.

Yeah, dawg. He may never have have played a down of football in his life...but F*CK it, might as well try to make it into the NFL at 29. :oldlol:

Yeah, dawg. He may never have have played a down of football in his life...but F*CK it, throw him in at the NFL level right now, and I'm sure he'll dominate. :oldlol:

I'm going strictly by his physical tools. Of course he would have to learn a lot of things and be willing to play the game but again, in terms of just raw tools, you almost never see a guy his size move like he does. Most offensive linemen are pretty terrible athletes.

Of course Kyrie would put on some weight.

Bell ran a 4.6 so he isn't particularly fast just like Kyrie. Both are shifty/crafty at finding the hole. Fluid so I can see Kyrie playing in the catching game too.

 Kyrie like Bell, that's a good one

Here's how it'd go. PG -> Either QB or WR (Nash, Curry, Wall would be QB, guys like Westbrook would be WR)

Midge PG -> RB (JJ Barea, Nate Robinson could get that Danny Woodhead type role)

Athletic SG -> Cornerback, Safety,

The right kind of athletic SF/PF -> Tight End, or maybe Oline/Dline

Centers... wouldn't play in the NFL. There are no 7' guys in the NFL dunno why.

You have a point. Don't know how he could be so damn quick on his feet for his size. Only if he had any ounce of hops and upper body quickness, he wouldn't get blocked so much.

In high school, Davis played fullback, tight end and defensive end, Williams said. During his high school career, he rushed for 976 yards and 14 touchdowns on 141 carries. He also had 13 catches for 257 yards and a touchdown.

But when Davis decided before his senior year in 2003 that he would play basketball instead of football, Williams said that he tried to persuade him to reconsider.

At the time, Davis was rated as the nation’s fifth-best high school offensive lineman by one service and reportedly had football scholarship offers from L.S.U., Miami and Oklahoma State.

Williams said that the former L.S.U. football assistant Jimbo Fisher, now the offensive coordinator at Florida State, told him while Davis was in high school that “he could start right now at left tackle for us and make more money than a lot of other players in the N.F.L. right now.”

Oh, what do you know.

http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/news/story?id=4625777

Davis, the Celtics' 6-foot-9, 290-pound forward, said he eventually wants to play in the NFL.

"I will try it," said Davis, who's on the injured list for six weeks with a broken right thumb sustained in a fight. "When I become an All-Star in the NBA, when I become a great player in the NBA, then I'll try football. One of my dreams has always been to play football."

Davis is currently ranked as one of the top ten prospects in America in both sports, which is truly amazing. Davis, 6-6 and 340 pounds or so, is projected as an offensive or defensive tackle. For his high school team, he plays fullback, tight end and on the defensive line. On the gridiron, he is a man among boys and gifted big athlete that has a bright future in football. But he also is great on the hardwood.

Baton Rouge-University Lab phenom Glen "Big Baby" Davis is rated the second best offensive line prospect in the country and one of the nation's top basketball prospects as well.

I'm not talking about translating their actual current size into the NFL. NBA players are no comparison to NFL players unless you're talking about corners or receivers...kickers. I'm talking more about skill-set, style and mentality.

I can see Westbrook more like a hard-hitting safety or maybe even a pass rusher on the outside. I believe John Wall actually played free safety.

Quarterbacks, you actually need player with a natural feel of the game especially when it comes to passing. Manu would be a good QB pick.

Then why aren't there 7 footers in the NFL? Have they just not figured it out yet?

People that tall simply don't have the quickness/agility and body control necessary to play the sport. Defensive linemen are bigger (weight wise) stronger and faster. Then you have bullets diving at their legs.

I'd give any of those guys you mentioned a month of playing in the NFL before they're either injured or have been effectively neutralized.

Lebron would actually be a beast LB or a DE, he is strong enough to lay down o-lineman and quick enough to gt to the QB for a sack....think of a JJ Watt, and thats Lebrons ceiling in the NFL
The talent is there, but I don't think Lebron has that hitting mentality though. For me, it's TE, WR, or QB for him. I imagine Gronk and Calvin impact.

WR's main roles is catch the ball . That's about vertical reach and wingspan . Shaq isn't fit to be WR . But Kareem,Artis,Wilt are mobile guys .

Defensive line guys needs to be stronger than tall .

Think of how often 7' players get injured in basketball... a light contact sport.

A 7' man's knees are just too vulnerable and weak to play the game of football.

Kareem, artis, and wilt are mobile for 7 footers. Not for 6'6 uber athletes.

And in order to catch the ball, a WR must be able to get open. Those guys wouldn't have the ability to. And even guys like Calvin who are open when they aren't still haven't excellent body control. These guys you mentioned do, but not compared to 98% of NFL defensive players.

There's just too much length in a 7 footer to be effective.

And even if one was a superstar for a second, teams would figure them out. Some team could put a backup DE to jam Kareem at the line and he'd have no chance.

And even if he did somehow have the quickness to get off the line (because God knows he wouldn't be strong enough against a DE), could you imagine how much a safety's eyes would light up at the 4 foot legs he could dive at? That also couldn't move away from you at all (or at least not quick enough for it to matter)? It'd be like playing baseball with a beachball that could go as far as a baseball.

Disagree with Garnett and Bledsoe.

Garnett is too lanky for an LB. maybe a DE though.

And idk if there's a player in the NBA stocky enough to take the beating of an RB.
