I think kobe might be the most confident player of all time... of any sport period

Its helped him when he was at his best and hurt him when he was at his worst

From the air balls vs the jazz to the bricks in year 20. This is expected. Take the good with the bad

If kobe protected his fg% and passed up difficult shots his entire career. Who knows. He might be 2 for 7 instead. Like what another guy will be who possesses those same futile attributes

Very true (srs)
But that other guy is also less likely to jump out of a building with a Superman cape on for those same reasons.

His trigger happy play might have made sense when he was a young wolf trying to make his mark on the league...

Now that he's an "old and dying lion", to borrow the immortal phrase, he should act with more dignity. He has nothing to prove, and he's not getting any better... As a basketball player, he has nowhere to go but down.

No one's asking him to go gently into that good night - he's Kobe Bryant, it would be out of character for him. But how about putting that last effort into defense and helping his young teammates raise their game instead of trying to throw as many bricks as possible?

you think the Lakers are paying Kobe 25 mil to play KG's role in Minny? No one's coming to watch Kobe to see him make a play on defense, they (we) want him to see go at it on the offensive end. His legs are shot anyway so he doesn't know when he's gonna get hot or how long he can play until another injury, he's going out firing.

He has no other role on this team, JC and D'Angelo are the ones handling the ball and running the offense for most of the time, Kobe's role on offense is to catch and shoot and make plays in the post, that's what he's been doing. Numbers say he's done and shouldn't be playing this many minutes but the team and the fans want to see him try in his last season. Kobe's going out as a #1 option and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I guess it is true that he's trying to emulate Stephen Curry's shooting form

Typical Kobe low bball IQ on display. He had 5+ seconds there - he could have easily faked the three to get the close-out defender to bite, taken a couple of dribbles in, and gotten a better look. But instead he hoists from 30.

Kobe's the fat kid at the gym with no talent who thinks he can play. Confident for no reason.

God damn this guy is ****ing annoying.
