View Full Version : Dirk is better than Bran all time...

stalkerforlife

Dirk won 50+ games for 11 straight seasons in the greatest conference in NBA history.

Dirk did not collude and form super teams twice in his prime.

Dirk won his LEGIT TITLE without another all-star by his side and possibly the worst supporting cast in the history of the NBA on a title team.

Dirk BEAT the most stacked team in NBA history, Wade's Heat, and shocked the world as Bran choked the series away.

Dirk is higher on my all time list.

(How many titles would Dirk have if he colluded with 4 top 10 players in his prime?)

If you want to make that argument, feel free.

However, this thread is about Dirk being better than Bran.

Stay focused.

He also lost in the 1st round against a team that won less 20 less games than his team did.

This whole won this ring with less talent will not be remembered after 10 years.

How were Bron's titles not "legit"?

Why do you need to collude just to win a title?

Dirk didn't have to collude to win a title.

It's called true greatness rather than perceived greatness.

Understand the difference.

Understand the difference. How he went about it shouldn't affect what happened on the floor.

He and his team went out there as underdogs with all the pressure in the world and earned their title. This despite losing Bosh for 7-8 games and trailing in the last 3 series.

Bron had a terrific run individually and one of the greatest elimination games in NBA history on his way to the finals.

If that's not "true greatness" than I don't know what to say.

Dirk didn't have to but what about Malone? Barkley? Reggie? Don't you think they would have huge boosts in their legacies if they had colluded and won multiple rings?

Read as:

How were Bron's titties not "legit"?

Dirk is like 16th-20th all time. Bron already is a few spots ahead, and by the time he's done, might crack the top ten like Kobe.

I'm sure they would have but since they didn't that is why they are RESPECTED.

Bron/Wade/Bosh collusion = no respect
KG/Peirce/Ray Allen collusion = no respect
Bron/Kyrie/Love collusion = no respect

Dirk staying with team, not colluding, winning = respect
Duncan staying with team, not colluding, winning = respect
Kobe staying with team, not colluding, winning = respect
MJ staying with team, not colluding, winning = respect
Malone, Barkley, Reggie not colluding despite not winning = respect

There's a very simple pattern here. The thing that makes Dirk superior to Bron despite not colluding is that he won with much less and he would have had the same # of rings as Bron if not for the controversy surrounding 06 finals.

Dirk, if justice was served, has 2 rings.

To add to this, there is not a single person who is a fan of the game that would not respect Bron if he stayed in Cleveland win or lose.

By leaving Cleveland to get those 2 rings, he actually HURT his career. Had he stayed in Cleveland, he would be more respected than Barkely, Reggie, or Malone and probably would have the same #of rings by now in Cleveland. Hands down one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a player of his caliber do in the history of the game. Was given the keys to the castle and he flushed them down the toilet like a fool.

And the type of suckers for a hustle, suckers for game, hype boy bandwagon fans ... that actually did admire Bran for abandoning his hometown ... who liked "the decision" ... aren't the type of dudes who garner enough respect from bystanders, for their fairweather-@ss opinion to hold weight when they speak up in any barbershop/party/gym/etc...

So for Bran to not be able to pre-emptively see that doing that would hurt his career, hurt his legacy.... whilst only retaining the admiration of that small group of aforementioned f@ggot-@ass niccas , seems far too stupid for how intelligent he comes off in interviews. He doesn't seem like a stupid guy.

What I think it is, is that he got so hyped up that Olympics, and he was given a great sales pitch by a superior salesman (Wade), and he bought it all hook line and sinker. We expect Bosh to buy the whole thing, and follow Wade, because we know Bosh is a real grade B Bish @ss nicca. But did we, in say, 2006, expect that type of follower, d!ckriding bullsh!t from Bran ? I didn't.

Respect? Lebron is widely considered better than Dirk due to his two rings. Wade is arguable as well also due to ring count. KG and Pierce are well respected. Barkley gets clowned all day for being ringless. No one cares about collusion. History will remember them as being good enough to win or not good enough to win.

If he had stayed in Cleveland he (likely) would be ringless and ridiculed for it. He would be LESS respected than he is now.

I hated him leaving Cleveland to join Miami and still don't like the fact that he did it but he absolutely made the right choice. Going to Miami HELPED his legacy.

I sure as hell didn't expect him to collude. I still see people wearing lebron jerseys in Cleveland where there is tape over the #3 and James is crossed off with "Irving" being written over top of it. Those are the fans that get my respect. Those listed in bold have an opinion worth shit.
