Great players made them great coaches..

Luke Walton had the opportunity to play with Kobe and be coached by Phil.. and he currently has Curry
Phil had Jordan & Kobe and was coached by Red Holzman
Red Auerbach had Bill Russell
Greg Popovich has Manu Ginobili, David Robinson, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan

etc etc.. if LeBron was great he'd make his coaches and teammates greater... instead more often than not, he makes them worse and uses them as scapegoats.

The Warriors should let Luke coach them in the playoffs.

25+ and 0 in the regular season. 16-0 in the playoffs.

How can Luke not be the GOAT?

Larry Brown...the only man to win an NBA and NCAA championship as a head coach.

I was loving to see Suns and Mavs plays on the court at my childhood . Warriors are most entertainment team for me at now . I love "Run Forrest Run" systems .

My answer is Red Auerbach .

Bill Sharman should belong to the title. He did get 33-0 at a point, right?

Probably the greatest single season coaching in NBA history. Took an old and declining Laker team from a 48-34 record in '71, to a 69-13 record and a dominating world title in '72.

The more I hear about Pete Newell, the more impressed I am.

I had heard about his big man camp, but I didn't know this:

He was one of only three coaches—along with Dean Smith and Bob Knight, who called him “one of the cornerstones of the game”—to win college basketball’s triple crown, taking the Bears to both NCAA and NIT titles and coaching the gold medal-winning 1960 U.S. Olympic basketball team.

“With all respect to John Wooden, it’s no coincidence that he didn’t start winning all those championships at UCLA until Coach Pete retired,” says Joe Kapp ’60, who, in addition to his illustrious football career, played hoops for Newell at Cal. “The last eight times they played, Coach Pete won all eight games.” Newell retired on doctor's orders in 1960 at the top of his game.

Newell was the first to use the “over-the-top” pass as an alternative to the bounce pass, and he found uses for the crosscourt pass, something conventional wisdom eschewed because of its risk of being intercepted. His stall strategy, called “three out, two in,” to protect a lead, predated the similar “four corners” technique popularized by Dean Smith at North Carolina. His "big man" camp actually taught footwork useful at any position
