View Full Version : How many players from the warriors will be starters in the all star game

I doubt anyone but curry will be a starter for the all star game.
During lebrons time in miami heat he had 2 team mates start the all star games with him.

Curry is currently doing more with less.
Already won his first finals and is on par to break miamis 27 game win streak.

I think only Curry and Draygod make it this year. Curry will get voted in, and coaches will put Draygod in.

LeBron also had a teammate with a FMVP to be fair.

Seems to be the case right now, Klay has a slight chance if he plays like he did last season, he has started off the season kind of slow.

so Lebron makes his teammates worse.

No all star team mates = no fmvp.

Well apparently he makes them better if they are getting all star appearances, just not as good as him

100% false. Bosh didn't start once when LeBron was in Miami, and iirc for all his all-star selections has started once in his career

Steph, Klay, and Dray will get in. They are the champions and undefeated so far. It's a popularity contest and the Warriors has gotten so much media/tv exposure this year. Plus, the Hawks got 4 into all stars last year.

Curry shouldn't even be asked... Then you got Draymond and Klay, if they keep it up and if GS keeps on winning big.

Only 1 starter but Dray is a given that he will make it. Thompson not sure.

every player in nba history with 10 or more all star appearances are in the hall of fame (excluding actives & Shaq, Iverson, Ray and Kidd who are all locks)

Bosh has 10, will have 11 after this year

Bosh will probably end up with 12-13, doesn't mean he was even in the same stratosphere as those other players with 10 or more, and if a 10x all star player were to miss the HOF, Bosh's career without LeBron would have a serious argument to do so

Bosh currently has a 98.6% HOF probability, you can argue this all you want but Bosh is a HOFer and Lebron spent 4 years of his prime with 2 HOFers.. thats just a fact and something Curry doesn't currently have the luxury of..

Lol, I'd never argue he isn't after the Big 3 era, but I seriously doubt he would have been if he never played with LeBron

You realize making the hall of fame isn't really THAT difficult right? There are guys who were flat out role players in the hall. Plenty of guys who put up big stats on bad teams. Sure winning helps you get in, but it is hardly required.

Vince Carter is a 100% no question lock for the hall and was 5-6 years ago.

If you think Bosh is only a HOFer because of the 2 rings then you're very misinformed.

Bosh with 2 rings has a 98.6% HOF probability

Pau with 2 rings has a 80% HOF probability

so obviously getting those two rings weren't what made Bosh a HOFer or Pau would be higher than 80% in HOF probability since he won 2 rings also

Bosh wasn't a HOF'er when he signed with Miami and wasn't after his first season with Miami.

One could argue he wasn't a HOF'er until after the 2012-13 season.

Bosh only had 5 previous all-star selections before signing with Miami for the 2010-11 season. If his career ended after that season, he would not have been HOF material.

so then you have to admit that 2x all star (prior to joining LA) Pau Gasol wasn't a HOFer either, so Kobe won his last 2 rings without a HOFer, Curry doesn't have a HOFer... but Lebron still had Wade who is and was a HOFer

I doubt that's the path you want to go down..

You're clearly exaggerating there...

Klay? Highly doubt he'll make the HoF... We'll see though...

Draymond? Don't know...
I mean, you got a dude like Bobby Jones who's one of the GOAT role-players; one of the greatest, most versatile defenders ever; won a ring; would've won DPOY at some point if it was awarded back then; made 8 straight all-defensive 1st teams; 4x all-star; 1st player to ever win 6th man of the year; always made the Playoffs, always played for top-winning teams; for 6 combined seasons averaged 14/7/3/ with 1.5 steals/blocks per game, on 55% FG and 77% FT; was once 2nd in WS/48 and 9th in PER; he's 13th all-time in FG%; he did his thing in the ABA... And he didn't make the HoF (yet)...
Michael Cooper is another great example... Also one of the best role-players ever; one of the best defenders of all-time; won 5 rings as a good contributor; won DPOY; made 8 all-defensive teams; was the one who "ran" the Lakers' offense when Magic was on the bench; was a very good ball-handler/passer, capable of scoring in double-digits, very athletic, developed into a very good spot-up 3pt-shooter... Don't think he'll ever make the HoF...

My nikka Sidney Moncrief is not in yet... And despite the lack of longevity due to injuries, he still won 2 DPOY's (most for a guard), was a 6x all-star, made 5 all-defensive teams, 5 all-nba teams (once 1st), was once top5 in MVP voting, was at one time the best SG in the league, averaged 21/6/5/1.5 on .592 TS% for 5 combined seasons, led some great, contending teams, did his shit in the Playoffs, almost made the Finals at one point...
****ing shameful that he's not in already though, especially with some of the players already selected :facepalm

Pau wasn't a HOF'er prior, doesn't mean he can't play like one, right?
Kobe's last rings were won with a HOF coach.
No, Curry has no HOF teammates just really good ones.
LeBron did have Wade who was at his best in the 2010-11 season. After that Wade missed almost 60 reg. season games over the next 3 seasons due to injury or "maintenance rest"

Reading comprehension young Kobetard.

He's saying Lebron didn't have a teammate win FMVP playing with him as Iggy did with Curry last year.

Well I fixed that bold virus you had! You can thank me later.

I mean certainly there have been some guys who didn't make it that made zero sense and you named a couple. I think you've more shown that voters don't respect or use the defensive awards for their voting (which I can't blame them).

As for green I clearly have to make a few assumptions. First, in 20 years when he's up for the vote, advanced stats will matter more than rebounds per game and other simpler analytics just like like are increasingly being accepted in baseball. With things like real plus minus being more common and understood a guy like Green who's about to have finished top 10 twice will be far higher on people's lists. Additionally, these stats are starting to give us better understanding of defensive value which again will favor a guy like Green. Second, I believe the popularity and publicity of the warriors will lead to Green getting 5+ all star nods over the next few years. Finally, I expect him to have no less than 3 nba titles.

The guy is 25 so clearly I have to make some assumptions here, but I seriously can't imagine if he stays healthy that he isn't in the hall down the road.
