Almost criminal that he hasn't been in one. He would add so much more excitement to the dunk contests if he went in them.

To be honest, this and many other things LeBron has said and done (or not done in this case) make me scratch my head sometimes

Congrats, he did an unoriginal dunk slightly better than a guy who lost in the first round of a dunk contest :applause:

So basically what you are saying is that he doesn't have the ingenuity to even create a dunk worth doing in the dunk contest? :confusedshrug:

LeBron has the fear of failure that gets accentuated by people's high expectations of him.

Long story short he is a beta.

The real question is, why didn't prime Derrick do the dunk contest? That would have been more entertaining.

If that were the case, he would have never played his first 7yrs in Cleveland.

With only Delonte West and Da Real Lambo as the only father figures he ever had in life, it's hard to not be a beta....

Maybe if your idol paid off his habitual gambling debts, his dad would still be alive.

Yea its a shame... he is (was i mean) capable of some dunks nobody has done yet in the NBA dunkcontest because of his ridicilous long jumping / one leg ability, which is stuff from the vicinity of FT line, the guy essentially took of from FT line IN GAME for gods sake and when he arrived at rim he was still head at rim / elbow over rim level (who the hell has done that in game?), thats just tells you something... when nobody is around, what he can do from there.... those type of extreme long/one leg leapers/dunkers are extremly rare and hence present rarer dunks, dunk that cant be done with two feet...

Im talking about:

FT line dunk, thats a 50.... i think Lebron would put Jordans & Julius "FT line" takeof distance to shame, he would definitely take of even further.
FT line alley-oop, thats a 50.
FT line alley-oop of the backboard (assisted at least), thats a 50.
FT line windmill, thats a 50.
FT line (or around the vicinity) between the legs, thats a 50.
FT line behind the back....
FT line............

...a long ass 360 / statue of liberty + windmill while at it perhaps.....
etc.

Lebron could have pulled of all of these and NONE of these have been done exactly in the NBA dunkcontest....

James White was such a long jump / one leg. leaper, but he was out of his physical prime when he came in..... White before NBA has pulled of essentially all of these in dunk contests and thats exactly the type of long jump / one leg. leaper Lebron was, maybe even better.... 6'8-6'9", long reach + 44"+ running vert + all of one leg & i think he was the fastest/top speed end-to-end player in the NBA at some time.... this is the most epic combination for extreme distance dunks....

There has NEVER been such a long jump/one leg. leaper in NBA history like Lebron... he was the absolute extreme... except for James White (but again, he was not at his best in the NBA)....

I really think we were robbed of seeing something special, damn you Lebron for this.
