People at the end of last year were saying how he is the best player in the league, going to win 5mvps blah blah blah. Like I said he doesn't have one particular dominant skill set rather he is a Swiss Army knife and can play some good defence like Orlando Howard (not as athletic). The kid is a second or third option on a championship team at most and is not even as big an impact for his team compared to Damian lillard who is half his height

He got overhyped, he's still really young, not all players are Shaqs who just come in and dominate instantly.

Pretty strong analysis.

If you surround him with the right pieces, he can lead a team to a championship. He did it in college :confusedshrug:

So did Carmelo, how's that working?

He has to improve big time defensively. He gets his blocks & steals allright but his impact on the defensive end is average.

Carmelo has always played on shitty teams and now he stopped caring and is happy being a millionaire.

He's way too good to be a 2nd or 3rd option. He's struggling with injuries and we hopefully see him getting healthy near the end of the season. He somehow is still able to dominate parts of games pretty handily. Overreaction thread.

He carried the damn PELICANS, to the PLAYOFFS, in the WEST.

Are we clear here?

2nd or 3rd option, get the **** outta here.

It is just not his team's year, the tape is out, and at the end of the day, he cannot do it all, which player has?

Pelicans are a mish-mash of poorly coached, poor-fitting underachieving talented players. Can't expect anything from anyone on that team right now.

I don't know. I think they should team up soon on the Knicks and see if we can do anything about it.

KP6 will take us there... one day

That team actually had a lot of solid pieces.

Thats a pretty big statement. Pelicans have a solid team, and lucked out because KD was out alot of games

Lol send him to the Celtics, guarantee you that overrated third option can win a title as a first over there

Brad Stevens would make him the GOAT and I'm only slightly exaggerating. That team is pretty much the perfect setup for him to dominate.

Oh come on, people.. Davis + Tyreke, Asik, Gordon, Anderson is hardly a playoff team in the West. I know, OKC, but still... The reason they were there was Davis.

"Solid" doesn't make the playoffs in the West last year.

His defense isn't even close to Orlando Dwight. That's nonsense.

He should be far more dominant on both sides. My issue is his tendency to settle for long 2s instead of dominating the paint. On the defensive side he looks average to below average at best
