I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell you what his shoes look like unless someone points them out, but good for him. Hopefully he got significant equity in nike and not just cash. That would be pretty bad if his brand is able to really grow like Jordan's has and he's just getting a check.

I don't really get this.
I never really saw Lebron as being a highly marketable guy.

Plus he is getting older.
If he was 25 and they gave him this gigantic deal well that would make more sense but at this point the guy is 31 with an insane amount of mileage on his body and might only have 2-3 more years left as a top guy.

Are they will gonna milk enough money out of him over the very few Prime years he has left + his declining years to justify a contract that is apparently multiple times higher then 300 million over 10 years?

I mean I don't think people are gonna be buying his shoes or merchandise years down the line ala Jordan.
Very few have that sort of brand power.

Anyway Nike is a powerful business and I am sure they know what they're doing but it still seems strange to me.

They must be thinking that he'll be able to carry his name well into retirement like Michael Jordan has. Smart move by Lebron to say the least. He'll be the richest NBA player of all time soon since MJ blows his on gambling and divorces.

30 million a year...FOR LIFE:eek:  :biggums:

Add in his NBA salary, endorsements, etc. LBJ is probably going to top $100 million a year for a couple years in the near future.
