That is a difference of 22.4 points.

2. 2006 finals - 20.9 ppg difference between Dwyane Wade and Antoine Walker
3. 1993 finals - 19.8 ppg difference between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen
4. 1975 finals - 18.0 ppg difference between Rick Barry and Jamaal Wilkes

He would have stolen some FMVPs, not to mention MVPs and the honor of being the best player in the NBA and the man of that team... same for Lebron...

1996-2002 Kobe was nowhere as good as Jordan (or Lebron).... at same age..

the premise of this thread is agenda driven and dumb as hell, why wouldn't you count finals losses and since when did FMVP imply that the other player "carried" the other. Bird and Curry weren't "carried"

The only thing that keeps Russell from being GOAT is scoring. Not that he needed to score 30 a game, but it's hard to put him over MJ when Jordan had such a big impact on both sides.

The term carried in general is stupid, unless it applies to an epic run like '94 Hakeem or '03 Duncan. Kobe obviously wasn't "carried", especially so in '01 & '02.

He would have stolen some FMVPs, not to mention MVPs and the honor of being the best player in the NBA and the man of that team... same for Lebron...

1996-2002 Kobe was nowhere as good as Jordan (or Lebron).... at same age..

Kobe was 17-23 years old at the time

Jordan was putting up average numbers in college while Kobe at the same age led the most dominant Playoff team ever in winshares and having the betters numbers through the first 3 rounds against teams who were all better than their Finals opponent.

Lebron from age 17-23 won 0 titles and got exposed by the same team Kobe destroyed in the Playoffs in 4 out of his 7 Finals runs (mind you that Duncan was in his prime in 3 of those runs).

Yeah, PRIME Lebron and MJ could have won a Finals MVP or two alongside Shaq, just like 2006-09 Kobe could, but mind you that Shaq in the Finals faced teams who had no idea how to limit his production while Kobe was playing in a facilitating role, not to mention he was injured yet still had the only memorable moments in the 2000 series against the Pacers..

You look at Shaq's career and you see that he couldn't win anything without a true closer by his side because he couldn't close games out in the 4th. No wonder he only won titles with Kobe and Wade, two of the greatest closers ever. Lebron is basically the Shaq of small forwards with all the chokes he's had over the years.

Curry could steal some FMVP's the way he's playing right now. Curry + Shaq = 10 rings minimum. GOAT inside-out game. Can't stop either. Triple team one, the other is torching your team. FMVP every year would come down to which player the other team focused on trying to stop while letting the other get their's.
