View Full Version : Iran tested missile, breaching U.N. council resolutions: officials
WASHINGTON/UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Iran tested a new medium-range ballistic missile last month in a breach of two U.N. Security Council resolutions, two U.S. officials said on Monday.
The officials, both speaking on condition of anonymity, said the test was held on Nov. 21. One of them said the missile traveled within Iranian territory.
Fox News earlier on Monday on its website cited Western intelligence sources as saying the test was held near Chabahar, a port city near Iran's border with Pakistan.
All ballistic missile tests by Iran are banned under a 2010 Security Council resolution that remains valid until a nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers is implemented.
So when we were pitching the idea of a nuclear deal with Iran, someone had to sit up in front of everyone and say 'I know they didn't abide by the last deal, but they'll abide to this new one'.
That's our government.

"The Obama administration took no action after Iranian officials announced the Oct. 10 test of a missile with a range sufficient to reach Israel, and a maneuverable warhead that could defeat anti-missile defenses."
Obama will probably be snickering away somewhere when Israel finally gets hit.

I'm just waiting for all those who were in favor of, and argued for, this deal. Before, it was 'we are being too harsh, if we relax the sanctions, they will be happy and less likely to try anything'.
Welp, here we are, and Iran took your deal and shit all over it, like we all said they would.
Still waiting..... :confusedshrug:

So... we should go forward with lifting sanctions huh? :confusedshrug:
The US has a piece of paper saying what Iran says they will do and a convoluted protocol on how inspectors should verify it. At the end of the day, it's a matter of when Iran stops compliance and military action will be required. Israel will do it to prevent a bomb from getting into the hands of a raving theocracy who regularly threatens Israel's annhilation, but yeah we should let their economy recover with no sure way to reimpose sanctions.:hammerhead:
I sure liked the dichotomous, political and most of all shameful ploy used by Obama to push the deal. He threatened the US population with war instead of threatening IRAN with war to accept the deal. The deal should have been complete dismantlement of Iran's nuclear program to lift sanctions. Any non compliance is met with military action to destroy enrichment facilities.

The medium-range missile tests were in violation of UN resolutions, not the P5+1 Framework Agreement...which had nothing to do with either the UN or missile testing.

Iran appears to be in a race against the clock to improve the accuracy of its ballistic missile arsenal in the wake of the nuclear agreement signed in July.
One day after Tehran and six world powers signed that nuclear accord, the UN passed resolution 2231, which compels Iran to refrain from any work on ballistic missiles for 8 years. UN Security Council Resolution 1929 was passed in 2010 and bans Iran from conducting ballistic missile tests.
You're right, has nothing to do with it.
Except its a worthless piece of paper and Iran doesn't give a shit what we say they are and are not allowed to have.
What makes you think they'll stick to Obama's deal when they haven't stuck to any deal in the past?

Lol. Iran knows that Obama won't do anything. If he had any balls he say "you broke the deal. Deal over".

They won't.

"To follow our defense programs, we don't ask permission from anyone," he said, according to state-run news agency IRNA.
The new rocket is "capable of scrutinizing the targets and destroying them completely," IRNA reported.

Nobody coming to Obama's defense on this deal I see.
Can we admit thinking Iran will stick to this deal is probably naive?

Hopefully that true, they are getting close to destroy the fake terrorist state of Israel
I'm pretty sure Israel will act before that happens. If history is any indicator. The Arab nations will puff out their chests and rattle their swords, until they get sent packing like kicked dog by Israel.

President Obama and the world should be ashamed they made this deal in the first place, with this f'd up government and the disgusting acts they do to the members of the BAHA'I FAITH. Persecutions that have gone on forever.
Education is not a crime.
These animals lock up head members of the Baha'i Faith for no reason.
They just rounded up 10-15 YOUTH Baha'is for no reason.
They feel threatened with the message the Baha'i Faith brings....they believe a new messenger of God has come AFTER Mohammed, that's where the problem lies
Yet the Baha'i Faith is only 200 years old, they did not spread their faith by sword. It is the most widespread religion in the world actually.
200 years ago they were calling for equality amongst men and women.
There main message is of UNITY. They believe in PROGRESSIVE REVELATION...
the oneness of religion...the oneness of mankind.
Fcuk the Iranian government!!!!!! The people there deserve better.
These animals since the 70's hold children classes at school just to brainwash kids...a smere campaign where they just talk schidt about Baha'is...that they are scum...don't trust them etc etc.
The government shuts down Baha'i business owners for no reason..
They demolish Baha'i graveyards...
Discpicable actions.

Yeah I don't think Israel is going to wait until they get a nuclear weapon.
Everybody knows what Iran wants to do with it. Why democrats want them armed in such a way, I will never understand.

The people of Iran aren't the problem. Many of them are very progressive and don't wear the hardline clothing.
It's the wahabbist, fundamentalist leaders in charge of that country which is the problem...

Different things. The Wahhabis are the extreme end of Sunni Muslims. The Iranian regime is run by Shiite Muslims. They don't like each other. At all.
Wahhabis actually don't think that the Iranian regime goes far enough in enforcing the tenants of Sharia on the people and considers them apostates. The Iranians, ironically enough given, think the Wahhabis (along with the rest of the Sunni Salafist groups) are primitive, backwards crazy people.
Iran most certainly has funded and supported fundamentalist terror groups in the region and abroad for their own political ends, that much can't be denied...but Iran itself is a considerably more secularized place compared to Saudi Arabia, where Wahhabis are in firm control of things with the Saud family.
