Do you want 73 [the Bulls went 72-10 in the 1995-96 season]?

"Yeah, but we have to do it the right way. We want to keep getting better and be at our best come April. If we don't win the championship, what good is 73?"

Kerr's 72-win Bulls vs. his Warriors. Your coach has said he enjoys engaging in the debate. Ever let your mind go there?

"It's hard to compare the teams. I watched them play growing up, but Coach Kerr knows what Jordan and Pippen were like, and even he says it's an impossible debate. Maybe me and Ron Harper should lock ourselves in a room and talk it out." :lol

Kerr wouldn't ID the victor, but he felt it would come down to the last possession. You got the rock, MJ's on you, one play to win it all. What happens next?

"Right to left, step back. I knock it down." :applause:

Is going down as the GOAT in your mind's eye, or do you just go in conceding that title due to the presence of one Michael Jordan?

"It's a high mountain to climb, but I'm pretty motivated to take on the challenge. Whatever that means, however you got on that mountain, why not try to climb it? And do it in your own way."

So you are trying to top MJ as the greatest of all time?

"Yeah. Why else would I be playing? You want to be the best you can be. And if the best you can be is better than him, then why not? That's good motivation." :applause:

Is there still room open Curryfam? I wish more players would be like this. :applause: This is the most alpha shit he's ever said.

This reads like something I would want him to say but players never really do... link or confirmation or something?

If all those words legit, Stephen

Curry is a modern day Hercules.

Was born a god, but due to unforeseen circumstances was sent down to Earth and has been slowly regaining his god-like powers as he makes his way back to Mt. Olympus.

Curry's playing incredible, no doubt about it. But 22 games does not a GOAT make. Let's see Curry keep this up for the next 5-6 years and even still we have to discount his much less than GOAT play in his first few years in the league.

But there's not doubt, if he keeps this up all season, it will be one of the finest peaks/seasons in history.

Yes, but peaks are more important to some people and they are more exciting anyway.

Thats unfortunately the mindset of most NBA players, some are working harder, some started much earlier and got better, some were gifted while at it etc.... to be the best that you can be, best in the league, best at your position, if that means better than anybody in history, so be it, it indeed is motivation, why would he say no?

This is more like "I want to be coming for MJ's throne".... not "Im coming for MJ's throne".... at his age he needs to be at least 2/4th of Jordans achievements/accolades to say something like that.... and he is not even 1/6th really....

This is the type of mindset champions need. It's better to shoot for the stars and just miss your mark than shoot for the dirt and hit it. Maybe Curry won't eclipse MJ as the GOAT, but by going for it he will accomplish so much and become an all-time great in his own right. I'm trying really hard not to like Curry, but he's doing all the right things

curry already is better than jordan ever was offensively. but the defense is what separates the 2 and will forever keep curry out of the discussion with other 2 way legends

I'm impressed that he said what he said in a way that wasn't at all ignorant or narcissistic.

He, and his team, are so great for the NBA.

He's already better than MJ though. The real challenge will be surpassing Kareem and then Kobe, which I doubt will happen quite honestly.

The only criticism I have with LeBron is that he puts himself above his team mates. We know he's the best but I couldn't playing on a team where the leader is constantly letting everybody know he's the boss, lol.

But other than that, LeBron, Curry, or whoever can say whatever they want as long as they back it up on the court.

How did Curry get over his ankle injuries? Major injuries are the only thing I see holding Curry back from becoming the GOAT one day.

This is a fair criticism of Lebron.

The difference between Lebron and Kobe is that Lebron puts himself above his team, but that Kobe puts himself *apart* from his team. Lebron wants to be the leader of a great team, Kobe sees himself as a solo artist.

Bron has no illusions that successful basketball is played 1 vs 5, which is why he is so insistent about who his teammates are. He wants guys who can keep up with him.

But the collegiality and fun you see on the Warriors isn't there. It's too engineered around one guy.

Well that's true about Kobe. But he did back it up on the court. So I'm not really mad at him.

It's funny because it's true and it sort of confirms one of 3Balls persistent claims that Lebron doesn't make his teammates better.

Curry is a great example of making his teammates better without pounding the ball for 20 seconds. His teammates, who are statistically relegated to Lebron like backup roles, actually seem to greatly enjoy playing their limited roles and doing the heavy lifting for their star player.

The GSW team is greatly overrated, Klay could not lead a team, Draymond wouldn't be an all star on the Sixers or Nets, Harrison Barnes would be fairly anonymous on Bucks. It works because they gather around a winning team lead by an off ball star in Curry.

Just the same as with Jordan.

It's not a co-incidence this happened during Kerr's watch and not Marc Jackson, Kerr was around that Bull's team and constantly and repeatedly praises Jordan for making him into a name that people remember. Don't think he isn't telling guys like Barnes, Igoudala and all the other bench players that. He is letting them now, history will remember them if they win.

Lebron on the other hand, who can name the role players of his championships. Someone like Mario Chalmers will be completely forgotten in a couple of years. No one will remeber the starting center.

You're full of shit and you know it. If this were the case, Russell would have no argument over any other top 10 player sans Magic, but he's usually considered top 3, 2 or even GOAT by some. Magic as well. I don't wanna come at Bird, Shaq, Kareem, etc, but it's arguable they weren't amazing on D like someone such as Duncan, Hakeem, Jordan, etc. Most people don't consider Kobe or Bron as consistent enough on D throughout their careers to be up there with the others. When it all comes down to it, there are really only a few 2-way legends (as you put it) that are in the top 10. Now a couple are obviously top 5 of all time, no doubt, but it doesn't seem to be a set criteria for being top 10 or GOAT by any means.

His assists are down this year to 5.8. He just can't keep up with being a PG when he's trying to score. It's going to catch up with him later on in the playoff. Russell Westbrook has been dishing out 9.7APG while scoring 27.1PPG. He's being totally overlooked this year.

He's not going to dethrone Jordan but I can see him getting to top 5 ATGs. It would be fun to see him try and eclipse Jordan's legacy. Curry is more natural, a true alpha unlike that choking ass media hyped guy from akron. :oldlol:

It's the system dude. His assists have gone down ever since Kerr took over. The days are gone when ISO Curry would pass it to the first guy he saw cross court and they take a contested shot. This system involved constant passing by everyone, that's why his numbers are down.

Someone will eventually take over as GOAT unless the world ends sooner than later. Probably some guy will win 10 titles and surpass Jordan.

I don't know about Curry. He's the best shooter but he lacks strength in other departments like defense. He's a point guard but not an elite passer (just above average), but he doesn't need to.

The top 10 GOATs are usually two-way players, elite in both offense and defense. But who knows, maybe Curry will break the norm. Let's see. He's definitely making me watch more NBA this season.
