KD 29 PER > PG 26 PER

PER sucks

RPM (http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM)

Paul George 6.26 > Kevin Durant 4.10

PG13 > KD35 and it's not even close, honestly. One has that alpha killer instinct and the other defers like the beta that he is.

PER is better when comparing between two players, and asking who the better player is. There are other outside factors with real plus minus, such as coaching/teammates, etc that don't answer who the better player is.

RPM tells us that the Pacers are better with George on the court than the Thunder are with Durant on the court. That doesn't mean he's a better player though.

We can gauge their on court impact or we can just autistically add all their box scores together (what PER does and also misses defensive impact in the process)

So according to you and RPM, Kyle Lowry is the second best player. You really going with that?

This season he has been close, Lowery has been beast so far.

The fact that you said PER misses defense shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

A little advice, leave the advanced stats to the people who actually understand what they mean.

Only because Durant has to share the ball. Switch places, and KD has better stats and the team record slightly improves, while Thunder take a miniscule dip.

Yea he's having a great season, but to say he is the second best player in the NBA is just not true.

You really got Milsap in your top 10?

Explain to me how PER gauges defense besides adding together rebounds, blocks, and steals.

This is going to be good.

Per doesn't take into account defense. Rapm does which is why PG has the edge

The only defense included in PER is blocks and steals.

PER is useful when you want to see who has the best combined stats.

Per doesn't and PG is superior defender to KD especially this season. Kd was better pre injury on defense. This season he missing assignments and getting burned with his one on one Defense. Last few weeks he has been a little better but overall PG>KD in defense

:biggums:

Paul George is a beast on defense. A 9.5/10. Healthy Durant was like a 8.0/10 on defense at best.

You are preaching to the choir, I agree with almost everything you said. I was just asking Sarcastic if he could try to explain his side about how PER does properly gauge defensive impact.

Sarcastic is your standard advanced stat guy

You tell them the stat is bunk and why

Then their response is "you just don't get it" with out refuting anything you said or further explaining the statistic properly

Why do you follow me around asking me this question every damn day? Westbreezy is actually one of my favorite players if you check my previous posts. Others can confirm. Durant is a beta, though, like Bran. It's hard to root for betas, mang. The alpha in me wants to see other alphas succeed. It's just nature, bro. Don't fight it.

So if Durant have a crap bench he is a better player than if he has a awesome bench, right?
