Could be misleading. If his teammates aren't playing well, he HAS to try to score more.
But for the most part, if he has like 12+ assists, his teammates are playing well.

Was just thinking this. If he's shooting a lot, it's BECAUSE his teammates are playing like ass so he HAS to. If they are playing well, he will throw them the rock. Y'all act like he's really inefficient or something. Dude is shooting 47% from the field this season. Only one who should be shooting more is Durant.

More reasons why Durant should come to Golden State

This.
You can go through history and MOST superstars/alphas will have this trend.

Yep, Thunder is much better off when Westbrook is passing.
According to Basketball Reference this is the Thunder record when Westbrook has more than 10 assists and less than 10 assists:
>10 assists: 93-36 - 74% win percentage - 60 win estimated season
<10 assists: 229-170 - 57% win percentage - 47 win estimated season
Pretty clear that Westbrook needs to pass the ball.

fresh of the presses,
when the thunder shoot under 45% as a team they are more likely to lose.
It's the pull up 3s that he needs to stop shooting. Not worried about the other shots.

No, it's clear he gets more assists when they are winning games. Beyond that the data doesn't really tell us much more than that. Duncan scores more in losses and plays more minutes. That tells me, duncan scores more points and plays more minutes in losses. Funny how that works.
What if Westbrook scored 200? Would the thunder lose?

Correlation when you don't like the stat, causation when you do like it:roll:
Since Westbrook is the main ballhandler and the eye test confirms that he doesn't pass enough, the stat backs it up nice.
Not that it was needed, everyone with basketball IQ could see it, but it's always good for stats to back it up.

He passes plenty. High assists = his teammates aren't bricking and making shots. Low assists = his teammates are bricking and not making shots. Has nothing to do with him passing more or not.
