Same here... Dude was a pretty solid player, very rugged and good for some highlight plays (dunks and blocks).

Yea, they made a nice PF/C tandem... And the Cavs were very dangerous with Daugherty+Nance and Hot Rod off the bench.

Damn, RIP. I knew him mostly for him being on those Cavs teams with Mark Price and Brad Daugherty. Shame they had to run into the Bulls every season, they could've seriously challenged for a championship.

I can't remember any other time where the league lost this many former players.

I can't bare watching the Lebron Cavs. Lebron ball is just not fun to watch. But I will say that I really liked those early 90's Cav's teams. I really liked Hot Rod. Craig Ehlo, Brad Daughtery, Mark Price, and Mike Sanders made the core of those teams, after Harper was dealt. Fun team to watch. Much too young. R.I.P.

He was one highest paid players at one point
"After the 1989-90 season Williams signed what is still regarded as one of the landmark contracts in NBA history. The Miami Heat signed him to a seven-year, $26.5 million offer sheet. The front-loaded deal was to pay him $5 million in his first season, making him the highest-paid player in NBA history and paying twice the salary of Michael Jordan. It was a league-shattering number for any non-All-Star, much less a nonstarter.

While the Cavs had two weeks to match, Williams uttered a quote that would become famous: "Right now, I'm a Heat."

"When we made the decision to match I went to him and said "Hot Rod, you're not a Heat; we're matching'," Embry said. "It was an exciting moment."

Be strong. My mom passed this year from cancer. It doesn't discriminate.

That's sucks. I haven't heard that name in a long time but I remember all the hype about him during the contract scandal.
