Should have had a lot more assists if his teammates didn't screw up a lot of his great passes. He's going to be a great PG.

Lakers' fans should be ashamed of themselves for how they treated Russell in the first month of the season, dude is a 19 year old rookie, do you really expect him to dominate the moment he gets on an NBA court?? Some guys don't play their first NBA game until they are 21-22 years old. But of course ISH overreacting to a few games is very typical so you shouldn't be surprised. I will say this, I NEVER bashed the kid when he got off to a slow start, you people need to realize being 19 years old in the NBA can be tough, give the kid some damn time before you judge.

Okafor dropped 22 back 2 back nights no thread about it at all. If a thread were to be made all the laker fans would swarm it bashing him and calling it empty stats on the sixers like the lakers are any better

I woulda been just as fine if he had gotten picked by the Lakers instead of Russell. It's because he got minutes at the start of the season that he was able to play well though, Russell got shit for getting no playing time and somehow was expected to put up the same amount of stats by the idiots on here :facepalm

You gotta give these guys a couple years. Especially the perimeter players. The depth of talent at the PG position in the NBA is ridiculous.

His ceiling is Magic Johnson with a knockdown jumpshot. Magic was two years older than Russell when he entered the NBA. Give Russell two years before fully judging him.

Any evaluations before the years are premature and pointless, most people that are quick to diss him/glorify him are pure idiots

much needed games for him... once he gets that 3 ball going efficiently then he will be ready to take his game to the next level.

STFU, don't make me go back and bump the thread YOU made about Lakers ****ing up with the Russell pick. Why lie?

I bashed Russell, but at the same time I cooled down after every game to remind myself and the rest of the posters in the game thread that he is in fact only 19 and still needed plenty of time to adjust. Now this doesn't mean he made it, but it was pretty awesome watching him fight in the 4th vs the Twolves to score 23 (including a game tying shot in regulation and long ass three pointer right before that, clutch gene, *****) and now tonight scoring 24 on the Spurs. Well done :applause:

RussGawd has the clutchness flowing through him like his father before him.

This year he is learning alot from Kobe what it takes to be a champion-next season, he'll be handed the keys.

Let's be real here.

Russell and Randle might be the next Stockton and Malone, and both of them are Lakers.

Hopefully he continues to improve :applause:

Okafor is getting in bar fights every two weeks, the man is a massive dumbass. If he had Tim Duncans attitude he'd have been the better pick, but he doesn't. Russell is clutch as hell and can shoot. A clutch shooting PG with elite vision and passing ability is the exact kind of guy you want leading your offense during close games.

Should help us in maybe 2 games this year then:lol but yeah I am starting to like what I see a bit more..

I think okafor in a better situation would be a beast. The Suxers should be banned from drafting/ruining these young guys first few years..

And no thanks plow, you enjoy dragic Max $$ man:cheers:

Okafor is not that good at all. Pretty post game but just does not play a style conducive to winning in today's era. Dude is exactly what people projected him to be and what people projected him to be is not good enough to lead a franchise. You cannot win anything of value today when your franchise player is a slow-it-down center who sucks on defense. You can work around it with other positions, but if your center is a garbage defender it puts a clear cap on your team that you just can't get around unless you have a freakish defender at the 4 who can do everything like prime Garnett or Rodman or something.

Russell is going to take longer to reach his potential but his potential is much more valuable, especially with the way the league is trending.

Porzingis is the only guy LA fans should feel shitty about passing up.

Porzingis is going to be really good and is already is pretty good, but I think (hopefully at least doe) that Russ really has a chance to become a special player. He will more than likely never have the same shot as Curry (guy he was compared too, GOAT shooter who is on his way to becoming an all time great) but he clearly has the clutch gene and is a go getter.

I too believe that Okafor has peaked already, non defensive bigs who don't grab boards are basically worthless to a team that is trying to win. Okafor at best is Brook Lopez who makes no difference on the teams W/L and at worst is David Lee. Either or doesn't make much of a difference to the wins and losses.

This guy is the stupidest poster I've seen on here. How the *** do you think Russell ceiling is Magic? How the hell can you campare randle to Malone? How can you call him clutch after one play vs wolves and they didn't even win the game. The next game he went 1-7 in the 4rth. Russell is good but calm down he's not that good
