If you could choose the team for the #1 pick, and it cannot be your team. Which team would you pick, and why?
For me personally, I see Boston, I see what they are doing with the personnel they have available to them. I just think that they need one piece to be fantastic, and I think they would benefit instantly from getting such a player, also known as Ben Simmons.. Isnt it a possibility too? Brooklyn gave their first round to Boston? So yeah... Ben Simmons to Boston.

Fav team is Kobe/Lakers, but I would honestly give it to the Cavs. Lebron has never gotten to play with a great player truly in his prime, let alone a guy like Shaq or Pau. Simmons obviously wont come close to those guys but at LEAST it's something. Bron bron has been an amazing leader carrying scrubs and washed up stars on his back his whole career. Would love to see him get a capable sidekick for once.

Boston or Lakers
Mainly cause I'm Australian and if I can't have him on Chicago I'd prefer he goes to one of the above

If not Chicago. Boston.
The league is always more interesting with a potential superstar in Boston.

I just hope the 76ers don't get it... But tbh, with the way their odds have been of getting the #1 pick over the last years.... And never getting it... Gotta believe they get it this year.. I feel the NBA is at it's best when the Celtics or Lakers are competitive, not the 76ers.
Such a shame about Embiid, he still might come... He still might be a monster. But the 76ers could be so much further down the road. I cannot judge Simmons on whether he'll be a franchise player... His skills combination is rare, but I haven't seen, like.... If the dude had a wet jumper, holy shit. And he's going to get one in the NBA, I believe that. I'll be watching the game tomorrow on ESPN, that's for sure.

Philly. They'd allow Ben Simmons to run free while others would try and hold him back.

Second would be Minnesota.
Rubio
Lavine
Wiggins
Simmons
Towns
That's not a great shooting team, but would be fun to watch run the break like a herd of deer and put the clamps on opposing teams with their defense.

this
The Celtics would be the best spot for the potential #1 because its an established team and wouldn't have the losing cultures of other teams. If not Boston i would say the Pelicans, Bucks, and long shot maybe the Wiz. Those teams also have potentially good situations

Boston. Stevens would turn him into the GOAT.

Boston. That team plays really hard and smart on both ends, is pretty good right now, just needs some magic dust sprinkled on top, like Ben Simmons.

I wouldn't mind Ben Simmons and Anthony Davis on the same team. Just fill the rest of the roster with players that can shoot threes and play defense and you've got a championship team.
whatever team that actually tries but just misses the playoffs.
I think they should be rewarded.

Celtics gotta come back to contention, Lakers messed up their chance with a high pick already, either or both should always be in contention IMO.

Philly
-4th largest market in the US
-city with a rich basketball tradition
-haven't had a winning team since 2001
-they already have some potentially great pieces in Embiid and Okafor
-Philly doesn't have the luxury of being an attractive free agent destination like LA or NY simply based on location so Philly actually needs to build via the draft since they can't rely on free agency.

New Orleans.
Boston, LA, and Philly ? They've had their shine, let other teams stack talent through the draft.
