What can I do with misdemeanor batteries and 2 DUIs? Throw in a couple of drunk in public arrests, too...whatever the hell they call them.
I want to be a nurse, but i'm scared the misdemeanor batteries will prohibit me.
Damn, I may be wasting my time.

bro you need to get those expunged. Did you successfully complete probation? Call a lawyer see if they can write up an explanation of how you turned your life around. AA meetings, family, school, successful probation, ect. Lawyers do these all the times and should n't be that expensive. Dui drop off after 7-10 years depending on state. After all this with expungement any routine background check your (m) won't show up.

Akz feeling some type of way cause op gets 10x the attention with a fraction of an effort. akz is here writing nonsense essays and telling us his shitty life story about not being able to act and stalker takes his shirt off and makes a video everyone loves in under 5 mins. Akz you are done, it's stalker's forum now. Just let it go and start dealing with it.

Seems to me that you're more interested in job than an education so pick something that puts you in a position to get work right out of school. History might be interesting but it's not going to feed your family. Figure out something interesting or even tolerable to you and talk to you advisors. You seem to have a good grasp on your weaknesses so it should be easy for you to aim for something reasonable/realistic. Good luck man, I like and am rooting for you.

both batteries and DUIs may be non-expungable offenses, plus once you have over a certain amount of misdemeanors, at least in ohio, you are ineligible for expungement.
any field that has a board, like medicine, law, nursing, etc., are tougher on people with background issues. Private corporations aren't as tough on them.

You don't even need to waste your time with school.

This guy makes a good point. OP you already have a rap sheet, you might as well consider a career as a criminal.

Military. Go be a nurse in the chAir Force or some shit. They'll not only pay you, they'll train you, and then give you 4 years of on the job training.
Then when you get out, you can get a job easy peezy.
Normally, I don't suggest anyone go into the military unless 1) you really want to do it or 2) you need job training and have no other option.
Do your 4 or 5 years in the boy scouts, **** some banging ass air force hoes, get you a nice paycheck, a job, and years of experience.... then go into the civilian world and dominate.
Worked well for me. :confusedshrug:

2 DUI's?
I'd let you slide with maybe one. But 2 means that during the second one, you knew you had a problem and you knew the consequences but you still chose to drive.
I'm not sure which fields care about this more than others, but that would my stance if i was looking to hire you.

If you have a company, most people who work for you will have driven drunk in their lives far more than twice. It's just a matter of who got caught and who didn't.
It's an extremely dangerous thing and I'm not diminishing it, but the fact is it's something people have always done particularly when they're young, and it's hard to see that ever changing, tbh.
If both incidents had plenty of time behind them, I'd look more at their present character than focus on a couple duis in the past.
