It doesn't look "horrible" but will beat a let down compared to the first. The tough thing with these types of movies its either have them updated to the point of not fitting the tone of the original, or risk having an outdated feel.

Nope. I went to the website and apparently his character (Col. Hiller) dies in a experimental plane crash of a new hybrid fighter the U.S. makes from the alien technology.

Personally I would've liked to see Will Smith back in it, he made the last movie, but he was asking for $50 million to do it from reports.
