Good news, Cav's will now be almost unstoppable, people forgot the we haven't seen this team fully healthy for a sustained amount of time. I expect them to perform to GSW levels.

#NoExcuses for LeBronksi now.
If he loses another Finals with the Cavs at full-strength and falls to a 2-5 (2 out of 7) Finals record, there is no way I can have him in my Top 15.

I love that David Haynes is the one reporting this... the same guy who wrote that click-bate article in the preseason that he'd be out until February.
He didn't even get the year right.

Rotoworld is reporting he will likely be back against Philly, they are one of the best sources for injury reports. They are quoting Chris Haynes but rarely Rotoworld messes up.

Oh, I have no doubt that this one is accurate. Kyrie has been physically ready to go for a while now based on what I have heard and read, but the Cavs have been very cautious with it. Apparently, he has been bugging the coaches to let him play for a couple weeks. And he has been taking part in full practices for some time.
I was just pointing out how wrong Haynes' preseason "bombshell" was. You wonder where this stuff comes from... i think Haynes needed a story. Classic click-bate.

It's about time, Irving's been practicing in full contact the last couple of weeks. I don't blame them though. They need to get him in some sort of rhythm and shape before you just put him out there.

Has played in 71 and 75 regular season games the last two years, respectively. Last year, he played the 4th most minutes in the league.
His injury problems have always been overstated, while a guy like Russell Westbrook completely avoids the "injury prone" tag despite missing more time with worse injuries.
His first two years in the league, the Cavs would hold him out for a hangnail, because they were clearly tanking (and that was the smart move). He had relatively minor scrapes and bruises during that time, but nothing that would have been close to season-ending on a team not tanking.
The first year the Cavs really tried to make a push for the playoffs was 2014 and he played 71 games. The majority of the 11 games he missed that year, if memory serves, was for a shoulder issue. Not at all dangerous for his future.
Last year, he played the most minutes on the team and was fine going into the playoffs. It was a freak accident, but also just a broken bone not tendon or cartilage problems. It was the first serious injury of his career and broken bones are always much preferred to all the other stuff that can befall young players.
It is the same injury Blake Griffin had his rookie year and Kyrie's recovery was faster.
None of that means I won't be holding my breath when he gets knocked to the ground on a drive to the basket, but injuries are always going to be a part of the game.

Going to have to disagree with you here. This is Westbrook's 8th year. Out of 582 possible regular season games he could've played in since he's been drafted he's played in 531. That amounts to a 91% ratio.
This is Irving's 5th year and out of the possible 334 possible games he could've played in he's played in 256 which amounts to a 76.6% ratio.
So Irving's played in the league for a shorter amount of time, missed more games than Westbrook and missed a larger portion of his career due to injury.
Westbrook's injury's have been more serious, but it's he's not injury prone by any stretch of the imagination and is in fact durable compared to Irving.

The "since he's been drafted" preface I don't believe applies much to the present. There was a time when Derrick Rose was playing 80+ games a season, too. That guy missed 6 games in his first three seasons, and virtually all were end-of-season games where he was held out because their playoff position was already set.
Now, just a few short years later, he is a shell of the guy who won an MVP. I don't think many people care much anymore that he was almost completely healthy his first three years. And I don't think his body does, either.
The last two seasons, Westbrook has played a combined 113 games to Irving's 146.
The biggest difference in how they started their careers was that Westbrook was almost immediately on contending teams and Kyrie was drafted to a team still in tank-mode for his first two seasons. The Cavs were holding him out multiple games for "contusions" (ie: bruises) in his earlier years.
Having Kyrie on the floor for 70+ games in 2012 and 2013 would have been counterproductive to the goal of getting high draft picks.

Agreed. My favorite as when the cavs annouced to the media that Kyrie was injured and going to miss a few games after a game but before Kyrie gave his post game interview. When they got to the interview the reporter asked Kyrie about the injury and it was pretty clear by his response that he Kyrie hadn't been informed of his injury yet. lol.

Haha. I had forgotten about that one but I do recall that incident since you brought it up.
There were some contentious moments between Kyrie and his family, and the Cavs organization because they felt he was being held out specifically for tanking purposes (and he was). In retrospect, it was the correct move for the team, but it is funny now listening to people carry on about how much he was "injured" early in his career. One or two of those incidents were true injuries that would keep him off the court on this team... when he broke his hand in the preseason a few years ago and a shoulder issue in 2013.
That was pretty much the extent of it.

And now this year Westbrook is on his way to playing 70+ games and Irving is on his way to a sub 60 game season already missing a quarter of the season due to injury.

Kyrie is easily the smoothest aesthetically pleasing player to watch in the NBA by far. Although Curry has his moments, Kyries' ability to counter anything the defender does it crazy...

So... you're assuming WB is going to be injury-free this season? Unlikely given recent history.
If it holds, it will mark the first time in three years Russ has played more games.

was hoping he was gonna come back against the knicks next wednesday because I'm gonna be at the game and it would have been sweet to go to his first game back. hopefully with a game or two under his belt he will be in better game shape and I get to see him go off though.
