Too many beasts in the East.
Who do you see getting the 7th and 8th seed?
Really hard to differentiate teams in the East, and that causes wild swings in perceptions with teams winning or losing a few games. Washington started off poorly but that can be explained in the context of implementing a new offense. Recently they've been better and Wall looks more like himself but overall the Wiz are a poorly constructed team. Seems like they lack depth which is compounded by the fragility of some of their players.
Right now I have Washington in the same tier as Milwaukee and New York as unlikely playoff teams and currently below Chicago, Detroit, Orlando, and Atlanta. Maybe I'm guilty of weighing recent trends of the latter teams as well as Washington's early struggles too heavily while being more forgiving to Toronto, Charlotte, and Boston but as I mentioned It's difficult to separate the above average, average, and below average in this seasons' Eastern Conference.

That's so true. There's a lot of teams in the east that should be performing better than they are then there's some teams who are performing better than expected. Hard to tell what will happen down the stretch.

They are pretty banged up right now and Beal is missing another 2 weeks with a re-injury to his fibula.

I don't think Wall will allow it. He's showing a lot of passion and fight. I never thought he'd become this kind of player. Hes finally starting to look like the guy who was in the playoffs last year.

Based on what I've seen so far, my guess is the Cavs, Bulls, Pacers, and Heat are the four best teams in the conference and, injuries not withstanding, will be the teams earning first round home games.
That means you have the Bobcats, Raptors, Hawks, Celtics, Magic, Bucks, Pistons, and Knicks all fighting for four playoffs spots with the Wizards. Eight teams, four spots.
They can't fall too far behind and expect to catch up, and the Beal injury hurts a lot in that respect. Their frontcourt is looking old and unreliable. They have an uphill fight.

He allowed it tonight and has been pretty up and down to start the season.
