Never saw the movies in my life, but im thinking about watching them because I wanna watch the new movie coming out
Should I watch them in the order they were released (4,5,6,1,2,3) or 1-6?

Maybe you didn't hear about it, you've been away a long time. They didn't go up there and tell you. I don't deliver mail anymore.

Movies:
Watch 4-6. (seriously, just watch 4-6 in terms of movies).
Games:
Play Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2.
Books:
The Thrawn Trilogy
Cartoons:
Star Wars Clone Wars
Ignore:
Star Wars 1-2.
Reluctantly recommend:
Star Wars 3.
4-6 then 1-3. If you watch the prequels first, then it kind of ruins the big twist/surprise/holy shit moment in the originals.

The Prequels almost make you not want to watch any more Star Wars movies afterwards.

The best order is . . .
4-5-1-2-3-6
Starts off with the originals but after the cliffhanger of ESB you get to the prequels and see how the SW universe ended up the way it did and how Vader became Vader then to wrap it up watch the conclusion of the OT and see the themes and juxtaposition of Anakin's fall/redemption.
This is the most effective way to do it

Unless Anakin has some absurd impact on this new series of movies, I'm not seeing why you'd need the prequel trilogy. The events of this new movie happen 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi...and you don't pick up on Luke, Leia and Han's story until A New Hope anyway.

Don't watch them at all.
Most overrated pile of shit in existence.

Certainly no Avengers or Winter Solider, which are among the greatest films this decade.
That's taking into account all the artistic sensibilities of the film craft, not just entertainment but dialogue, acting and a litany of other moving parts that make film a nuanced endeavor.
Fck popcorn movies, Avengers shows how to make great art. One of the very best this era.

Skip episode one. Phantom Menace has nothing to do with Star Wars.
Do watch 2 and 3. You want to see how Anakin fell because supposedly the evil dude in force awakens follows a parallel storyline to Darth Vader.
