I honestly want to know what happens if Kobe continues to play relatively well, I'm talking 20ish points 5 and 3 on 45% for the rest of the season and they start winning more games.
Would the competitor he is actually let himself retire if he started to feel/believe he just needed to play himself back into shape and had more to give?

Would be premature right now, right around All Star break sounds reasonable :D

as i said it from the beginning: from what i could see regarding his quickness, his high shooting release, his ability to dribble and to drive to the basket.....he still had it. he just was in a huge shooting slump.

Damn! He tried to play it off like it was nothing, but you can tell how happy he was about it at the very end

He's averaging 18/5/4 on the season in 29 mpg :confusedshrug:
It's nice to see Kobe playing well. You know it was eating at him that was struggling so much. He's too hard a worker to not have turned things around at some point. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Kobe shipped Randle to the bench and all is well.
Randle is a lazy black hole that needs to learn by observing the Mamba.

I think he'll end the year with 17/4/3 on 38/30/80 or something like that. Still pretty bad, but not that different from other seasons from all-time greats.

Statistically speaking, Kobe will have some good streaks this season, but he will likely have more prolonged slumps as well. The Lakers are still losing badly for most of this 5 game streak, so if he sits out of blow out games, that will help him recover. It will still end up being by far his worst season of all time, and he would be a fool to call off retirement. He's not a fool.

I hope he can continue this level (or something somewhat close to it) the rest of the season. Even the haters will forget his poor start to the season and he can retire gracefully.
