or rather having mercy on him http://nypost.com/2015/12/16/the-time-i-nearly-beat-the-hell-out-of-kobe-bryant/

He recalled his celebrated fight with Bryant 15 years ago at Staples Center that had then-Lakers coach Phil Jackson jogging onto the court to help prevent a brawl.
“When I hit him, I didn’t want to hurt him. I knew he was an up-and-coming guy. I remember back in the day watching Kermit Washington hit Rudy T [with an infamous punch during a game in 1977]. I didn’t want to get that label of hurting a guy’s career. So I just happened to tap him and let him know you’re trying the wrong guy.’’
:lol Childs wasn't even trying and still made brickbe's knees buckle :oldlol:

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more embarrassing than getting hit with a sucker punch at 20 years old and not even flinching.

Kobe just stood there and Childs knew everyone would come between them. :lol

He tried to hit Kobe with all he's got. More than Kobe having a good chin, Childs is simply just a bitch who has no idea how to throw a punch

15 years on and dude gets asked bout a 10 second moment, while Kobe sits at home looking at his rings/mvp/fmvps

But yeah I'm sure this incident keeps Kobe up at the night :oldlol:

“I took a few boxing lessons. I know how to defend myself.’’

Seems like it's true. After Childs hit Kobe with a one two combination, he retreated and Kobe's punch couldn't reach him. Standard boxing move. Unfair though since Kobe had no boxing training.

Think anything you want of Kobe the man, Kobe the person. But I believe his toughness is pretty unquestionable. He has played with injuries that would sideline most (definitely others who can play with injuries also, but this is not about anyone else but Kobe).

And those shots by Childs, sad. Those punches are embarassing, obviously has no idea how to throw a punch.

That's what I like about NBA fights, that deep down the players aren't really trying to hurt each other. Like if you show the Shaq, Barkley fight to some random person, they might call them thugs, and much worst. But when you hear Shaq and Barkley talk about it, there's so much thinking going on, on how not to really hurt the other guy.

Now I wish Kobe would recall it, and tell us about it 15 years later.

Now I wish Kobe would recall it, and tell us about it 15 years later.I think there's some truth there. Another great example of the "punch but not really" situation was Doug Christie and Rick Fox. Christie was in position to do some serious damage there, but the uppercut was so slight, almost as if he was saying, "I don't want to do this, but I kind of have to so... I'll split the difference."

That said, it looked like Shaq was out to deliver some damage when he went after Brad Miller, even though his punch looked like he was throwing out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1KG6c_ykYM#t=1m15s

He didn't even wind up - look at the gif he's not even trying. He's giving Kobe the treatment that older more powerful siblings give to their spoiled younger siblings. Those "I could really **** you up if I want to but I'm just gonna mess with you" punches.

Nah, Shaq knows he cant risk punching someone for real. His arms are just too big, he could honestly kill someone. He whiffs on purpose.

Prior to me even posting there were numerous Lebron gifs, which was the purpose of this bait thread. Are you that insecure about the fact that Curry has made Lebron irrelevant that every time someone mentions this very fact, you get all emotional about it and go into damage control mode? Seriously man, Lebron is a career loser and I hope you are not concerned with the fact that he is no longer relevant. Also your perception and accusations about others couldn't be further from the truth. Please seek help.
