Let's replace "Pippen" with "Klay" in the quotes below.. :yaohappy: :

Bill Laimbeer:

"We didn't even think about Klay Thompson. It was Michael Jordan and the Jordannaires - and you can't win championships like that with only 1 player."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqC74bv46Z8&t=1h07m33s

JERRY KRAUSE, Bulls GM:

“Would Klay have been great someplace else?

Michael absolutely killed Klay in practice every day for his first two years. Michael just tore Klay up. He made Klay learn how to compete and forced him into playing hard. Had there not been someone to challenge Klay like that, I’m not sure what would’ve happened to him... No, Michael made him a man.

Michael made him a man and Doug [Collins] did a great job with him in his first year. And he - Collins - had Michael to beat on him for a year every day in practice and Michael beat him to death."

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5453558

Shaquille O'Neal:

"You did okay, but MJ did most of the work"

"Remember I WAS BATMAN YOU WAS ROBIN , I was PUFFY YOU WAS MASE"

"See what happens when Michael ain't protecting you, you lose a 17 pt lead in the fourth quarter." (referring to 2000 WCF Game 7)

:whatever:... Doesn't sound like Klay to me... Klay doesn't have these issues... Klay's >>>>>

huh? are you actually saying Klay is better than Pippen?

At this stage of their careers, Klay is probably better relative to the competition he faces - in Klay's 4th season (last year), he was a top 12 player in his conference (all-star), whereas 4th year Pippen was not.

Also, Klay might have the edge thus far due to superior scoring, and his tougher mentality resulted in greater success for his team - in Klay's 3rd playoff run (last year) - he helped his team win a championship.

Otoh, in Pippen's 3rd playoff run, he had one of the biggest chokes in the history of the game: 2 points on 1-10 in Game 7 of ECF.. This cost the Bulls their first championship, since the Pistons needed 7 games (and Pip's choke) to beat the Bulls, but only 6 games to beat Blazers.

Both games Klay was out went to OT. And the one game he came back early from an injury they lost

He relieves a lot of pressure off Curry. Without him there it makes Steph's job a whole lot tougher. That alone makes Klay immensely invaluable. Throw in his length and defense and you got an ideal backcourt combination.

Can Klay do this? Is he even man enough to tower over another top player in the NBA and drop his nuts right in his face and make someone his b1tch for life? Ewing is Pippen's b1tch for life.

Pippen was an all-star in his 3rd season.

In his 4th season he averaged 18/7/6 on 52% with 2.4 spg and 1.1 bpg and was 2nd team all-D.

In the playoffs he averaged 22/9/6 on 50% with 2.5 spg and 1.1 bpg.

This clown brings up 4th seasons and then immediately jumps to the 96 and 98 finals...:lol

Pippen 91 Finals: 20.6ppg 9.4rpg 6.6apg 2,4spg 1.0bpg .453%fg .527%ts. Scottie also led the playoffs in drating and defensive win shares. He was much, much better than Klay was last year in the playoffs/finals. I also love how he just throws out the 96 finals and 98 finals without any context. Scottie was beat the hell up in the 96 playoffs and dealing with about 3 different injuries...but does 3ball mention that? No. He was also having a fine 98 finals series before he hurt his back. He was a big reason they were up 3-1 in the first place.

That doesn't work either...Klay is a good defensive player. Kukoc was atrocious defensively.
