You think getting his in a 20 pt loss to a fringe playoff team warrants discussion about the possibility of a Championship? They are, as a matter of fact, the second worst team in the NBA. If 27 yr old MJ walked through the door the Lakers would have a zero percent chance at winning the title this year. Without MJ its LESS than zero.

But sure, if Kobe leads this Laker team to a title this year he would instantly move up the all time rankings enormously. But he can't and they won't, so you are dumb for asking.

Might as well ask what would happen if Kobe scored 150 in a game. The likelihood is the exact same.

He isn't nearly the level of Curry/Dray/Klay, and I would argue he is WELL behind Barnes/Iggy/Bogt/Ezeli. Which means he MIGHT be 8th (Livingston, Barbosa, Speights are all arguable given their aptitude to play their roles).

Is he in front of LBJ/Kyrie/KLove? Of course not. He is almost certainly behind TT, Shump, Mozzy too. I think even JR would be a better fit for this team.

SAS? Ha. Kobe couldn't even get on the floor with this crew.

you are confusing third option with third best player. If Kobe somehow could maintain his level of play of the last 6 games (18/5/5 on 49%) he could be the third option for the Spurs. Doesn't mean he would be the third best player though. Cavs no, they are loaded with scorers. Same goes for GSW. Is this version of Kobe (last 6 games) good enough to come off the bench for OKC as an ultra 6th man? Probably, but doesn't mean he's as good as Ibaka or that he would even accept that role. I doubt he keeps up this level of play, but there are some good teams where he could go and be the third option if he kept scoring 18 per game with good rebounding and assist on good efficiency

Its such an absurd premise to begin with. But no, if he is ANY option that team would be precluded from winning because he takes the entire possession away from offenses and has been historically inefficient. Has he been good over the last two weeks? Sure, in the last 8 games he has been a little better but they are 1-7 and have losses of 22, 29, and 20 pts in the last week. Its not like teams are even playing him hard. Take the blowout win and go out in LA.

Pop would throw him off the team. That team operates with such precision. Kobe's ball stopping, no defense... just no. Wouldn't fit at all and he would be well behind their entire backcourt rotation. Yes, Patty Mills is FAR better for that team than Kobe would be.

Sure, he is probably comparable to Waiters. His best shot would be OKC. But he would make them worse, they don't need any scorers, etc.
