Billups, Nene, Afflalo, Lawson, Birdman, JR Smith and Kenyon Martin all on one team yet he still failed? :biggums:

How much more help does one man need? :biggums:

Good question. Lack of cohesion, perhaps?

Ty Lawson ruined the team not Melo

Cohesion? That team has absolutely everything needed to win.

Knockdown shooters, multiple wing defenders, athletes, shot blockers, defensive anchors, great bench & several vets.

Give Kobe, Curry, LeBron, Harden, Dirk, Durant, Westbrook etc that same roster and they win that year. :facepalm

He actually played really well that series.
I'm too lazy to look back at the stats but they probably couldn't stop Deron and Boozer.

Is that supposed to be some kind of murderer's row supporting cast?

I see a group of guys that are either past their prime or nothing more than solid players. I'm not saying they weren't a good team, but let's not act like they were some kind of juggernaut on paper.

Re-watch the series.

Melo had a great series iirc, Billups was decent but couldn't stop Deron. Boozer and Millsap went off on Kmart/Nene.

JR Smith played like shit
Kmart and Nene got shat on

Lawson was young and not that good yet, afflalo too. 30 year old Kmart? Really? JR is always trash in the playoffs. Nene is meh

I'm seriously not that impressed with the names on the list. Acting as if it was meant to be a sure shot thing or something is ridiculous.

They needed a super star player to make that team better. Their best player was Billups and after that he didn't really have much of a second option star level player.

Because Kobe was a much better player.

NBA forum getting weird. Got Melo trolling threads now?
Anyone who thinks that team was any sort of stacked needs to get their eyes checked. or IQ. Or both.

That team lost to a Jazz team with two starters out, and a 6'8 and 6'7 frontline. They weren't that good plain and simple.
The Jazz team they lost to got swept by LA.

But isn't that because melo is like a boarder line top 20 guy? I mean really if you can't guard anyone and you're not an elite scorer either...

Birdman is straight TRASH.

Can't understand his hype in Miami.

For a Lebron hater, you make it way too easy.

Love how there were a few responses about Kobe "happened" and how Kobe kicked Melo's ass all the time. They didn't even play each other that playoff season, dumb fcks. It was the year before that.

That team was 22-2 with the starters healthy before Karl got cancer and Adrian Dantley ruined the flow

How that isn't a good team is beyond me.. But some things are decided by God

Do you understand the meaning of cohesion, fool?

You can have all the talent in the world on a team. If they don't play together, they lose.

They were actually a very good team... they lost 2 games upon entering the '09 WCF, and if not for their late game inbound mistakes, nearly would have swept the series.
