Compare the West teams of this decade vs the West of the 90's?

Am I the only one who feels the West teams of this decade were better teams by a good margin? The worst team I listed from the 10's west was probably OKC, a team that had 3 superstars in Durant/Harden/Westbrook.

90's West to me seems to have had team with alot of flaws. I seriously have a hard to seeing lets say the mid 90's Rockets even reaching the Finals if you put them in the league around 2012-2015.

How can you not mention the Spurs or the Jazz for most of the 90's? Ditto for the Suns, who were strong teams from the late 80's to the early 90's. Lakers were strong until Magic retired. So from 1990 to 1995, you had Lakers, Suns, Jazz, Suns, Spurs and Rockets. WC was pretty strong.

I mean yeah, the WC has been historically strong for many years now but everyone knows that.

You could call me crazy, but honestly what makes the '97 Jazz inferior to the '14 Spurs? I think they're on the same level.

History would view that Jazz team much differently had they beaten the Bulls at least once. People forget how competitive those series were. The Jazz were a well oiled machine. Very fundamentally sound, team ball and disciplined and obviously, well coached. So in that sense, they were like the Spurs. And it took tremendous clutch play from MJ in both years to get past that team.

But I have never seen team ball like the 2014 Spurs in the finals.
