Warriors vs Spurs - Both teams are dominating the league at the moment, both move the ball on offense like few teams in history, both have legit defenses as well. It is like 2 superpowers going at it, USA vs Soviet Union.
Cavs vs Miami - People would like to see this because of the storyline obviously, LeBron playing against the team he won 2 championships with then left.

One of those teams don't belong. But I guess that's the best the east has to offer right now

As a Miami fan I would love to see the matchup against the Cavs and I wanted it to happen last year, too.

That's a very strong possibility. It would make for a highly compelling final 4, and assuming the teams are all at full strength they would be exciting and competetive matchups. The league would probably love to see it happen. I'm not suggesting any kind of rigging nonsense, just saying that from a ratings standpoint it would draw a lot of viewers.

Adam Silver's wet dream....until the Finals ends up being MIA @ SAS

Heat tend to match up well with the Cavs. They're not better than them but they can very well beat them.
Heat and Spurs in the finals would be a joke. Spurs would demolish them worse than they did Lebron's Heat. :biggums:

Which team is the Soviet in this analogy?

I think GS-OKC would be a more exciting WCF than GS-Spurs.

Pretty much this. In order for the finals to be somewhat entertaining, this cannot be the matchup. MIA v. GSW would be entertaining though, although he outcome would pretty much be decided before tipoff

I think the Heat will miss the playoffs tbh, a repeat of last year
The East is more competitive now, Miami lose 3-4 games in a row and suddenly they fall to 9th in the East

Yeah, the only chance the Heat would have to be competetive agains GS or SA would be to somehow turn it into a slow-paced 90's style Heat / Knicks slugfest. That or hire someone to kidnap Curry or Leonard.

They missed the playoffs last year because Wade and Bosh missed 70 combined games. They've missed a total of 1 this season. That team was starting Shabazz Napier, Henry Walker, and Michael Beasley for a good chunk of the season. Whiteside barely played until January and Dragic was in Miami for less than half the season.
How is that team ANYTHING like this year's team?
