1) Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (Last)
2) Prisoner of Azakban (3rd)
3) Goblet of Fire (4th)
4) Philosophers Stone (1st)
5) Chambers of Secrets (2nd)
6) Half Blood Prince (6th)
7) Order of Phoenix (5th)
8) Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (7th)

Part 1 & Half Blood Prince were extremely dark movies, and honestly I didn't pay closely to the entire dialogue. It was very slow and serious. I'd have to watch them again to properly evaluate. Take those two movies aside, I easily consider Order of Phoenix the worst one overall, but it is still an enjoyable watch.

Part 2 was hands down the best for me. Just from start to finish, I was intrigued by everything that was happening. All the twists and turns, the final battle and the showdown between Harry & Lord V. Just epic stuff.

It's Prisoner of Azakaban and Chamber of Secrets. :oldlol:
I'm surprised you have the Order of the Phoenix so high up. And Chamber of Secrets so low. For the longest time I felt like COS was one of the 3 best movies in the series until I recently watched them all again within a week's time. Chamber did fall a bit on my list but it was still very very good.

I was just being facetious since I haven't seen them. I do think they're probably more my style than the comic book and star wars stuff, which I just can never get into. But I feel like since I missed all the Harry Potter stuff on the first go-round, there's just too much of it now to start investing myself in.

that's because it's hard for inferior minds like you to understand a trilogy like tlotr

enjoy your harry potter kiddy wizard stuff

Inferior Mind?

Boy, I watch films and movies alike, they are NOT the same. I can dissect a film far more profoundly than your nerdy ass can read shit on a Star Wars message board and regurgitate it here or elsewhere.

A Star Wars nerd calling a fan of anything kiddy stuff is seriously LOL

How unaware are you? The concepts of Star Wars were the original 'Kiddy Stuff Ideas' franchise.

I hope you posted that ironically considering how vehemently you're defending a movie that was 7/10 quality.

That was a quote from a comedy movie you simpleton. Hence the " "

Lord of the Rings were masterly crafted, it's undeniable. They were made extremely well. Plenty of Oscar winning films are still boring.

The Oscars are somewhat of a sham anyways. True movie watchers and film critics know the Oscars is rigged with a certain formula.

I enjoy Harry Potter more than LOTR. That's not to say they are as well made as a series but Harry Potter had much more moving parts that made it a more difficult task to keep up with anyways.

I don't know shit about the Harry Potter universe but I enjoyed almost all the movies. The last one was my fav because it was nonstop action. My least fav was part 1 of the last one. That one was the setup to the last when shit hit the fan.

point being, it's a trilogy for superior intellectuals like me

i don't find it boring, it's very entertaining if you actually pay attention

These movies just weren't as good as the books.

That said, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is clearly the best movie for me.

The battle of Hogwarts scene where it's a long continuous shot with a shit ton of callbacks to all the previous films with every monster making a return and the emotional music as Harry, Hermione and Ron are running to where Snape is was incredible.

The Snape revelation scene was well done.

The end fight with Voldemort was great, not too long, not too short.

To me it's the movie that felt the most like the book.

Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite book, Deathly Hallows was my second favorite.

Order of the Phoenix and Goblet of Fire, I thought these were awful movies.

holy shit this idiotic Kevin Smith logic.

You know Clerks 2, and the discussion he wrote about Lord of the Rings was the same moment everyone realized that Kevin Smith was a fat useless hack whose opinions mean jack shit.

Lord of the Rings is hands down the best movie trilogy ever.

These movies were perfect, the extended editions were even better.

There's nothing superior about you slick.

All your talking points about anything I've seen all over the net from nerds who think the have some sort of gift when they're discerning PG and PG-13 tentpole blockbusters made for mass consumption. Somehow that's superior intellect lol.

Star Wars is great fun but the movies are simplistic. They're not nuanced BY DESIGN. LOTR are well made films but they're tedious at times. Probably has to do with a mostly drab setting but it is what it is.

You can't even facetiously quote something that pokes fun at LOTR without ppl coming to dismantle. I don't even like Clerks 2.

Only real nerds with insecurity issues come to compare nerd franchises when one of them wasn't even part of the discussion in the first place.

It's nerdy enough I ranked 8 Harry Potter movies but now it's HP vs. LOTR. Fckin shade and his obsessive fanboyism.

STAR WARS FORCE AWAKENS WAS ONLY PRETTY GOOD!

Because you put yourself on some fan pedestal of a franchise that is written the opposite of what a 'superior intellectual' would be drawn to. The plots, ideas and concepts are all arbitrary broad stroked simpleton stuff in reality.

It's only shy socially awkward internet dwellers that has made Star Wars more complex than it actually is.

I said it had multiple good things going for it.

It does. There's real gravity to some of the situations presented.

I liked Force Awakens but that movie barely presented anything nuanced. The enjoyable pace was so fast it didn't shine light into much of anything outside a line or two exposition then moved on.

Not intellectually provoking at all unless you're already invested in the ideas

I recently watched all 8 Harry Potter movies within a span of 10 days.
Honestly was blown away. It felt like an epic adventure for me. I really enjoyed these films. However, when I watched them sporadically I didn't feel the same connection, not even close.

LOTR is a different beast altogether. But Harry Potter series is a damn good watch, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Overall if I had to rank both of these collections;

Harry Potter - 88 / 100
LOTR - 98 / 100

Star Wars - 82 / 100
