I don't even care about the cartoon. That's not what upsets me.

What upsets me is exactly as the OP stated, if this was a cartoon about Obama, the world would end. The left is the most intolerant group on the planet. They'll pretend to care about the welfare of all, but the truth is, they only care about the welfare of those on 'their side'.

Just like BLM. The black lives that matter to them are the ones killed by cops, not by other blacks. They dont give a shit about black lives, they only use it to push their agenda. And holy **** if you happen to be black and not down for their cause, they'll rip you apart.

College kids and their 'safe space'. Remember that liberal teacher? The one who wanted a safe space, but when a student film major tried to document the event, and wasn't on her side, she was literally begging someone to come kick his ass. Not on her side, you are the enemy, and your rights dont matter. Only the rights of the left matter to the left. That's how people like her see it.

This is a great example. A cartoon, that everybody and their mother knows if it was done about Obama, the world would erupt. But because its done by Cruz, a republican, its cool? Yeah, you won't find many liberals who think that cartoon is inappropriate. Replace the word Cruz with Obama though, and you'd see the Purge.

I understand the cartoon. Cruz is cranking a music box and the monkeys are dancing. "Dancing monkey" is a euphemism for someone who follows orders. It obviously has nothing to do with his race.

But by the same token, the hugely controversial cartoon that portrayed obama as that escaped monkey which had recently made headlines at the time, and said 'I guess they'll have to get someone else to write the stimulus bill' was an obvious crack at the stimulus bill, not Obama's ethnicity. The point was that the content of the bill was perceived as absurd and might as well have been thought up by a monkey.

In that case there was a major backlash.

In this case, there won't be.


The main difference is, conservatives might be annoyed or disappointed when someone is openly bigoted, either toward their group or toward other groups, but they generally dont flip a shit and spazz out about it. Liberals flip a shit and spazz out about it. They obsessed with protecting every minorities feelings. They're OBSESSED. It's genuinely their raison d'etre. THey have nothing else in life to spend time on.
