If not then he was close. Young Orlando Dwight was a monster. No one controlled the boards like he did, no one came close to altering as many shots as him, and even with a non existent offensive game he would still put up like 20 points on absolutely elite efficiency. He was no joke even though he fell off as soon as he left Orlando due to injury and not having the mental focus to play in LA. He also did not have the entire team custom built around him like it was in Orlando with the 1 in 4 out.

The Magic started to get worse around the same time Dwight's offense started to reach it's "peak" (2011 Magic's record decreased from previous seasons and they lost in the first round of the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks - whereas they reached the Finals when their offense was much more evenly distributed w/ Rashard, Turk, Howard, Nelson, etc). In Dwight's absolute best season, the guy could not even beat out Derrick Rose for MVP ... couldn't even get more than 3 first place votes to be exact... I'm not trying to take a shot at Derrick Rose, because clearly he had a phenomenal season, but come on it's not saying much for DH imo

There seems to be some revisionist history going on. From 2008-2011 there wasn't a clear #1. Lebron may have been atop several people's rankings, but there wasn't a consensus best player. Lebron was arguably the only player to be top 3 each of those years, but 2012 and 2013 were the seasons he was the near unanimous top player in the league. In the seasons before and after, several players have been in the discussion such as Kobe, Wade, Durant, etc.....

People acting like the 1A 1B didn't begin in 2011. The regular season STARTED with the Heat trying to get LeBron acclimated to the team and ran the offense through him.
A little over 1\4 of the way through the year you had Wade at 23\6\5 and LeBron around 26\7\7
Then Wade said **** it, and finished with 26\6\5\2\1 50% FG vs LeBron 27\7\7\1\.5 on 51% FG.
If Wade decided to play Wade ball all year, he would of been at around 28\6\5\2\1 and nobody would argue that LeBron was better.

Come playoff time, Wade averaged 25\7\5\2\1 versus LeBron 24\8\6\2\1, numbers identical, with Wade being more efficient from the field.
In the 76ers series, LeBron was better, but Wade also had bad migranes and lets be honest, all the Heat needed from him was his 22\9\5 to defeat Philly easily.

In game 5 when LeBron was at his best scoring the last 10 points, it was Wade who was still the teams highest scorer with 34, and single handidly kept Miami in it until LeBrons moment. Chicago series, yes that was Wades worst series of the post season, but he gave his heart out, had HUGE defensive plays in some close games, and him coming alive in game 5 allowed the Heat to make a comeback, with LeBron going off too. 17-4 run to comeback in game 5 and win the series when Wade had a driving layup, 3 point play, 4 point play, and a block. LeBron hit a couple huge shots too, including 2 daggers.

I don't even have to begin talking about the finals, BIGGEST series of the season and LeBron chokes worse than anything I've ever seen. IF Lebron gave the effort Wade did vs Chicago although he was struggling, the Heat are champions, and Wade is FMVP.

Zero chance if you include playoffs and VALUE the finals that LeBron is better than Wade in 2011. You could argue Equal at best, but Wade was better.
