After Thibodeaux was axed, me and a buddy said the Bulls will end up similar to the Knicks (on the court, not management)

Hoiberg has been taking some heat for the Bulls' setback this season, some of it deserving. I precisely remember as recently as earlier this calendar year the many complaints by Bulls fans about ex-coach Thibbs "working them too hard" or "burning them out come playoff time".

Thibodeaux may have been a hard-ass, but there was a reason for it and it's coming to fruition right now. The Bulls do not have the mental makeup of players who can remain strong consistently without someone watching over them. Sure, they play hard here and there, but not nearly close to how they were before. They have no on court leadership: someone who can keep everyone focused and get on players when they are screwing up.

As talented as D Rose is, he is no floor General. He's not on that level of LeBron and Kobe when it comes to influencing other teammates. Defend him all you want.

Regression from what? They were average before and they're average now.

Mainly, from being a hard playing defensive team that gives it every night.

actually he is, that is why his impact resonates with the team so strongly. when he plays well, its more likely than not they are winning, when hes playing poorly, its more likely they are playing mediocre and looking like the knicks. Jimmy butler's play is a non influence.

The Bulls do better when their max paid PG doesn't play like shit...what a concept.

they dont just do better, they win. any time rose led in assists, bulls are 8-3, anytime in scoring 2-0. butler doesnt have that impact, hes 50 percent accross the board whenever hes the leading scorer or distributor.

You actually believe Derrick Rose is better than Jimmy Butler...nuff said. Rose actually launches up more shots by a per min basis than Butler...the fact that Butler leads the team in scoring most of the time is because HE ACTUALLY MAKES HIS SHOTS.

I think the Bulls shot to win it all was last year. Rose back on the court, the emergence of Butler, the addition of Gasol. Really underwhelming to see what happened in the playoffs.

How will rose do when he gets traded to Minnesota? I think he will bounce back and be much better than he is right now in Chicago

Its been four years now... . Really. Why are you still looking at Rose? Rose was a leader that lead by example. He doesn't even trust his body right now, so he can't lead the attack, unless you believe he should lead everybody to go out there and not trust their bodies. Last year in the playoffs when Rose could get his body up for the game, who was the leader of the team? Thibes had a ton of great things to say about Rose leadership that first year. Noah was on the team before Rose, you don't even mention him. Gasol has a ring, you bypass him. Butler is the man on the team. Basically you are scapegoating.

It was underwhelming...But it was also Lebron hitting an insanely clutch shot otherwise Bulls were gonna be up 3-1 and close out that series. Not sure they could have beaten GS though, but indeed last year was their best chance.
