Manu and diaw are seriously two of the best passers in their positions ever. Add in two great 3 point shooting guards and that's a brutal passing lineup.

if the Heat played like that for 48 minutes they would have 4 peated and probably broke 72 regular season wins. one of the most stacked teams ever, the best player in the NBA and a two top 10 players. instead they let James and Wade switch off playing hero ball far too often. it's the same problem the Thunder suffer from.

It's a coaching problem. Very few coaches can pull that off. Spo, Scott Brooks, and Billy Donovan can't.

That is an incredible play. Excellent defense was being played and the spurs still overcame it.

Nah. Heat were a top heavy team. You need deep teams with talented role players to do this. Like the Warriors and Spurs.

The role players whom you praise were nobodies before they got to Spurs. Pop simply knows how to maximize their potential.

This is the kind of basketball I live for. Picture perfect smart plays that's a step ahead of the defense. It's good D but it looks like they're just toying with them

they do give up a few great 3pt shots in that play though

David West, Boris Diaw? Nobody's?

Manu was a well known guy when they drafted him, and certainly isn't a nobody.

That leaves Mills and Anderson. I guess you can give pop credit for them, though anderson was if I'm not mistaken a first round pick by the spurs.

The ball movement of the bench squad is far better than the starters. The bench focuses more on ball movement while starters seem to get the ball to Kawhi and lma and let them work.

Kyle Anderson doesn't seem comfortable with his 3 a lot of the times. You don't have to shoot a 3 just because you're open.

Spurs vs Warriors would be right up there with the GOAT finals series along with the Celtics/Lakers

It's a shame they are in the same conference

It works both ways. Pop also doesn't have JR Smith and Nick Young playing for him for a reason.

No it isn't. Billy Donovan can't? He's coached 20 some games and you clowns on here expect him to have the Thunder playing like the Spurs. :oldlol: This shit takes time. Westbrook and Durant have played like they have for 7+ years, old habits die hard.

Thats also correct. When genius like Pop is both GM and a coach, he gets whom he needs, even if it looks like rejects from the other teams.

Its bad when in such position is someone like Doc though, but thats another conversation.

I think the idea was that a Kyle Anderson 3 pointer isn't as good a shot as a wide open David West mid range jumper

"A synergy has to form between the owner, whoever his president is, whoever the GM is, whoever the coach is. There’s got to be a synergy where there’s a trust. There (are) no walls. There is no territory. Everything is discussed. Everything is fair game. Criticism is welcome, and when you have that, then you have a hell of an organization. That free flow through all those people is what really makes it work. And that includes everything from draft to Os and Xs. Nothing should be left to one area – only to the president, only to the GM, only to the coach – or the culture just doesn’t form. At least that’s what’s worked for us."

how about no.

http://grantland.com/features/analyzing-kawhi-leonard-george-hill-trade-2013-conference-finals/

read this and tell me if Kawhi Leonard is a Spurs thanks more to RC Bufford or Popovich.

Hell theres a lot of people behind RC Bufford. Spurs just have a lot of competent people from coaches to scouts.

Nope. If it were left to Pop, George Hill would probably still be a Spur (instead of Leonard) - he was one of Pop's favorite players.
