We are a third of the way through the season now... That's enough to start to lean towards who can win awards for the season...

Is Pop the coty again?

Most of the NBA are trying to mimic the Warriors small ball run and gun style of play... And it's impressive absolutely.

But Pop always seems to be innovative with his style of play.. The league goes one way and Pop sees an opportunity to go another.. He doesn't copy other teams and always seems to be ahead of the curve with league trends.

Spurs are now 25-5.

Could he win the coty again? I think at this point he should be favourite

Rick Carlisle is working wonders as well.

i know this is a popular pick but that team could still very well miss the playoffs
they aren't even seeded atm for instance.

If coty was treated like the mvp award, pop would have 5-6 of these things

Luke basically made one mistake all year. What does he have to do to win it.

True, Pop is the GOAT coach as far as I'm concerned. He won 3 times, but he could have won 2-3x as much IMO.

If you look at all the West "powerhouses", they all imploded this year with the exception of OKC Westbrooks, and the Spurs.

They had potential issues with LMA, but Pop worked his magic, everyone on the same page and the Spurs have 2 of their next big 3. Ready to dominate for another 10 years.

Every game I watched he was. He wasn't the head coach every game this year? Does he he have to coach more than 50 games? I wonder how all of this works.

Maybe I'm biased but i have to think skiles has a case if orlando keep this up. He's totally turned this team around and the only additions over last year are rookie mario and injured cj watson. We've gone from being one of the worst rated defensive team in the league to one of the better ones with only a coaching change.
