But Kareem was too good to be pushed out of the NBA.

No , mvp award voted by media since 1981 . Kareem's six mvp voted from by NBA players . You can't stop Kareem's all star appearances. Like above poster said , Kareem was too good for that .

Serious, outspoken guy, who doesn't shy away from taboo matters = Main characteristics of being asocial. This isn't necessarily something negative, it's not as if only people with psychological problems are asocial, the very same thing can happen if someone is too good, too mature for society to harmonically fit in.
