We are closing 2015 in a few days.
Here's my Top 3 players in the game.

1. Steph Curry - Best player on the best team. Clutch. Revolutionizing the perimeter with his insane range and consistency.

2. Kevin Durant - He is healthy again and starting to push his ceiling a little higher.

3. LeBron James - The standard. His skills are only getting better with age and his strength and athleticism are still a huge problem for defenses.

I am not a San Antonio Spurs fan, not even close. But with how Leonard is playing and the impact that he makes offensively and defensively, he deserves mention as a top three player in the league.

Kawhi may very well be the best two-way player in the game today. He is top four in PER, WS, WS/per 48, wins above replacement and box score plus/minus.

1. Russell Westbrook
2. Stephen Curry
3. Lebron James Jr

Just write down your top 3. I'd love to see Kawhi vs James one-on-one. I feel James has more skills than Kawhi right now and James can consistently dictate a game more than Kawhi... this may be due to the Spurs system, though.

Nah.

Maybe to some degree, but Lebron is an ATG when it comes to that. Kawhi isn't on that level, and likely never will be. It's an innate thing that Lebron had since day one.

2. Lebron
3. Durant

GAP is closing between Lebron and Curry, as Curry has been coming back down to earth the past 5 games.

Give it a couple more months and Lebron will have the top spot again.

People forget Kawhi went MIA in the last 2 games of the playoffs, costing his team the series. Durant when healthy is arguably the game's best player but he wasn't healthy this year, so for 2015 I go with Curry, Bran and Westbrook.

Durant has an absurdly low motor. He has a tendency to become passive and coast for a couple possessions. People blame Westbrook for freezing him out but the reality is Durant can't play at a break neck pace like Westbrook or even Kobe or Lebron can for a large number of possessions in a row. I don't think this part of his game will ever improve.

It may be his stature. Durant's a tall dude. He may be more of a Dirk than a Kobe.

That's one of the things that amazed me about Lebron was his ability to play at such a pace at his weight. It's pretty insane.

LeBron's no Westbrook when it comes to motor and he's also not proportioned like Durant at all.

Kawhi over LeBron or KD is hilarious. Stop overrating him.

BTW OP, if LeBron's skills are improving, where'd his shot go?

it's curry and then it's everyone else honestly. doesn't matter at this point.

stephen curry is the best player in basketball today bar none and there may not be another player to come along to dethrone him for a very long time.

Athleticism has a lot to do with it. He is being contested a lot more due to his speed decreasing so he has to be more creative. Theoretically.

LeBron and Curry are the obvious top two. Curry is far more motivated to play at his best right now than LeBron is, so it's hard for me not to look at that when judging them against each other.

Durant is a distant 3rd, with Kawhi right behind.

I like Kawhi Leonard but he seems overrated to me. He is not top 5 in anything offensively. Defensively he is probably in the top 2-3...

Are we talking about this season? Or 2015 as a year? I love Durant but I don't think he's played enough this year to be considered.
1. Stephen Curry
2. LeBron James
3. Kawhi Leonard

If its for this season, then
1. Stephen Curry
2. Kevin Durant
3. LeBron James

Well Westbrook is probably the best in the league at that. Also, it has less to do with proportions and more to do with weight on average. Which is why Lebron running around and able to expend so much energy at his size is highly unusual
