Kobe's play these last 7 games or so has catapulted him into once again being a top 5 player in the world.

Fans noticed.

Alpha. 2nd GOAT. More than Bran and Durant combined.

Sad day for the sport of basketball.

If the old bastard has any dignity, he'll give up his 'starting place' to someone more deserving like Westbrook or Harden.

You mean when will the others get good enough to be voted in before Kobe? That's the saddest part of today's ball.

kobe has been to the all-star game the last 5 years undeservingly, this year is nothing new.

Five years ago was 2010

NBA champ

Finals MVP

2011-2012 still undeniably top 2-3 in the game

2013 most alpha season in recent memory due to a number of obvious factors at the time:bowdown:

Tf is u smoking last five years bruh:biggums:

Ah, the downside of democracy.

But I still think it's better than the alternative.

Yes you have Kobe starting, when it's clear by his play he doesn't deserve to be in the game. But so what? It's just an honorary fraternal exhibition game. I have no problem with this.

But I can see why someone might. He's piling on honors that I bet guys in previous generations didn't have the chance to rack up.

Let him have his last swan song; next year, he, along with Pierce, Dirk, KG and probably Vince will all be retired, and the next generation of the NBA can start in earnest.

that's what happens when you announce your retirement

It's cool that the fans are paying their respects to a legend like this. It's stupid though to see it as any more than what it is op. This is much better than Mj having to bum a starting spot during his wizards years.

Pretty sure he was top 5 in MVP voting and 1st team all-NBA before he tore his achilles...

and how is it undeservingly? Fans want to see him play in the ASG, especially since last 3 times he did he clowned Lebron. We want to see it again.

And he was pretty terrible in that game except for the clutch moment that Kobe ruined :oldlol:

It'd be one thing if Kobe was at least having a solid year, but he's been horrible.

So we should judge all all-stars off 10-game stretches? Gtfo with that logic, 1-14

No, but you should take into consideration rust from a few non-relevant years. And as for making the all star, it's simply off of votes. You can have whatever criteria you want.

Everyone is free to vote as they please, but I believe the ASG should include the best players. Give Kobe a ceremony at the end of the year, sure, but he's not an great player anymore.
