Rigged. Tayshaun was fouling him every time down the court and the refs were swallowing their whistles. Mamba would have had 40 freethrows every game if the refs called it correctly.

Bringing up an 11-year-old performance? I suppose I can empathize; I always harp on about the fast whenever I need to deconcentrate on the harsh present. :(

Young and immature and had something to prove. Happens to the best players (See 1984 Magic Johnson and 1995 MJ).
Almost as bad as 2010-11 Bron, though I admit.

young? something to prove? What are you talking about? 1984 Magic was 5th year Magic, 1995 MJ isn't even remotely comparable

Who scares LeBron fans more - Kobe or Curry?
I'm telling you, if Curry wins another ring this season playing reasonably well in the playoffs, LeBron fans are in deep sh!t. The Cavs having a "super team" is the only reason he's relevant right now. :oldlol:

Neither one scares any TRUE LeGOAT stan.
BUT... by default, the answer would have to be Curry since Kobe is already in the rear-view mirror, same place the Brick Mamba has been since the late 2000s.

This:lol
Curry would then take brans place on the all time list, he would be 2/2 in the finals and plays like a big di.ck alpha...
Lebaldo 2/6 and can't even get it done with a super team:lol

2nd most efficient scorer on the team.
Outperformed all star guards Michael Redd, Reggie Miller and Jason Kidd against one of the best defenses of all time.

One of the best defenses of alltime specially post Sheed trade where they played GOAT defense giving Kobe the bulk of defensive attention.............
Ppl mention 11 finals alot but what happened to Bran in 07 finals?
He scored less pts than Kobe on worse efficiency against a worse defense, had 6 turnovers a game and Cavs only lost the last 2 games by a combined 4 points:lol :lol Cavs stacked rebounding and team defense kept em in winnable games but Bran was nowhere to be found

Even before the 2004 NBA Finals. He shot 38 and 41 percent from the field against Houston and Minnesota. Prince also played some good 1 on 1 defense on him in the 2004 NBA Finals

Settled for jumpers with long arm Tayshaun Prince contesting. While visibly gunning for a finals MVP. And not really focused on play making and passing. Recipe for disaster. He did have a pretty good game 2 though.

Actually is was Gary Payton who pouted through that series.

It's really simple what happened:
Kobe went into the series with the mentality that the Lakers were either:
A: Winning the series with him as the Finals MVP, or
B: Not winning the series at all.
He sure played like he aimed for scenario A (taking 22.6 shots per game while shooting .381 over Shaq's 16.8 shots per game while shooting .631), but we all know which of the two ended up happening.

Actually is was Gary Payton who pouted through that series.
No, he was just severely past his prime and didn’t fit in the triangle (No superstars PG would, Karl did, and GP didn’t) and got dicked down by Billups.
Kobe was so tired of the sidekick talk, even though him and Shaq were co alphas by 2001. He was desperately gunning for Finals MVP.
Had an amazing, memorable game 2, complete with game winning long distance 3.
And then shot LA out of the series, in combination with Malone being hurt, and GP never being a fit. And not taking advantage of Shaq’s massive size advantage in the post on Ben Wallace, when he was scoring at a very high clip.
Settling for his sweet looking jumper with 6’9 (yet way longer) Tayshaun Prince draped all over him with the contest wasn’t remotely a smart move on Kobe’s part.
Meanwhile the very next season a 2 inch shorter D-Wade utterly torched the same exact Championship All Time Great caliber defense by destroying Rip and Prince off the dribble.
Before Wade got injured in the ECF that is … and if he didn’t? The Heat would’ve been in the Finals, potentially back to back champs. Shaq would have 5 rings and D-Wade would have 2 rings and 2 Finals MVPs before Bron’s cowardly ass ever joined him. Cause Shaq was much better in 2005 than he was in 2006.
And Wade always destroyed the defenses jump shot happy Kobe failed against (2004 - 2006 Pistons, 2010 Celtics)
Which just ultimately shows you how GOAT Michael Jordan was. He had the best attributes of both prime / peak Kobe and Wade’s games. With none of their weaknesses.
Karl being hurt was a huge factor though. He was very good, even at his age during the regular season and very early in the playoffs. He would’ve gave them a much necessary weapons and dimension on defense to keep Detroit from loading up on Kobe, cause they knew that year he wasn’t feeding Shaq.
That Pistons team was damn good defesnviely. From Coach to players.
Surpassed by what happened to stephen curry in 2016 finals.

Kobe showed why he wasn't on Jordan's level in the 04' Finals
PRIME...................... PEAK....................... KOBE........
locked the f up..... :confusedshrug:
that's impossible for peak MJ (88-93'), who is a mythical figure because he was literally never locked up in any series.
